We met at the spring football game freshman year of high school through a mutual friend (thank you Christina Irving). We each asked Christina about one another and started talking over AIM (it was 2006, give us a break). While we had a connection, we decided to just be friends over the high school years, seeing each other randomly through mutual friends. Halfway through senior year, knowing that we would be going to college together (GO NOLES), we started talking a lot more. After graduation, Cory got his wisdom teeth out and I was nice enough to get his favorite ice cream for him. Cory came over to eat his chocolate Reese’s Ice Cream and watch Private Practice and One Tree Hill and basically anything of my choosing! Those were the good old days because now I don’t even get to pick a movie! After that night, we hung out almost every day and started officially dating. We took our love to Tallahassee and had four amazing years at FSU, making new friends, going to tailgates (Cory making it to the game, me not so much), going on formals, and our favorite Tally date night, Bonefish. After graduation, we decided to move back home. In this next chapter of our lives, we found our careers, focused on relationships with friends and family, bought a house in Delray Beach, and found our love of travel! Together, we’ve snorkeled in the Bahamas, hiked in Hawaii, ATVed in Greece and Aruba, chased waterfalls in Costa Rica, and the list goes on and on! The past ten years have been filled with the best memories together, whether we were traveling the world or simply happy hour hopping or going to our favorite date night spot in Delray: IPIC. We’ve been so lucky to have had this time to celebrate big milestones, grow together, and fall more in love.
On August 23rd, Cory got down on one knee in our living room in the house that we bought together ten years, two months, and nine days after we started dating (but who’s counting). I of course said YES! We celebrated just the two of us at a local spot, J&Js, before deciding to share the good news with everyone. We spent the weekend (and every other day after that) celebrating with friends and family! We’re so excited for this next chapter in our lives and can’t wait to celebrate it with you!
