Question
Do we need a visa to go to Spain?
Answer
No action is required from travelers at this point and currently visas are not required for travel to Spain. ETIAS visas are expected to go into effect in late 2025/2026 and apply to any non EU- citizens. The European Union will inform about the specific date for the start of ETIAS several months prior to its launch. For more information: https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias_en

Can I rent a car in Spain?
Answer
Most rental companies require an international drivers license (IDL). Some will allow you to rent without an IDL by simply not asking if you have one. However, you can get one at Triple A offices in 15 minutes very easily. If you do rent, we recommend Sixt in Barcelona Barceloneta location.

How do we get to the venue?
Answer
We are providing buses to and from Barcelona downtown & Barcelona airport on Friday and Sunday. Bus schedules were confirmed based on responses to the Google Form. Please text Lauren ASAP if your plans have changed since you responded so we can plan for the correct bus capacities.

When are you planning to arrive in Barcelona?
Answer
We will be arriving in Barcelona on 6/17 to sight see with friends & family for a few days prior to the wedding. We would love to have all our loved ones join us. Details will be provided on the "Things to Do in Barcelona 6/17-6/20". Details on where to stay during these dates are posted on the "Travel" tab.

Where do we stay? How can we book our hotel?
Answer
We have booked Castell d'Emporda Friday to Sunday for us and our guests. Please see the "Travel" page for instructions on how to book rooms.
Question
How do we get around in the city? Do the have Uber? Taxis?
Answer
Uber is new to Barcelona and not widely available. We recommend downloading the FreeNow Taxi app to order taxis like in the Uber app. Link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/freenow-taxi-and-more/id357852748 There are also taxi stands. You can find them by googling “taxi” on google maps.
