Canmore
Downtown Canmore is like a town out of a Hallmark movie! Main street is less than a five minute walk from The Malcolm and has shops, breweries, bars, and restaurants. On the other side of town, there are plenty more options for breweries and restaurants as well. You cannot do anything wrong in Canmore! Don't feel like traveling into Banff National Park? Stay in and around Canmore, Kananaskis is right down the road with plenty of hiking trails! To access both parks, you have to purchase park passes (there are two separate passes for Kananaskis and Banff).
The Pulse General Store + Coffee Bar
Located in the lobby of The Malcolm, this little coffee shop/general store is perfect for a quick cup of coffee and a breakfast snack!
Stirling Dining Room and Lounge
Don't feel like leaving the hotel? There's a restaurant downstairs! You have the option to choose a more laid back lounge/bar area, or a fancy dining room! The food is fantastic and their espresso martini's are DELICIOUS.
Bridgette Bar Canmore
This was our first stop when we visited Canmore in 2024. They have fantastic happy hour specials and a wonderful menu!
The Drake Pub
Great food, great environment, lots of games, and happy hour specials! Needless to say we loved it here and can't wait to go back!
The Grizzly Paw Pub
Within walking distance to The Malcolm this is one of two locations for The Grizzly Paw Brewing Company! The beer is good and cold!
Fergus & Bix Canmore
A great little restaurant with plenty of food and drink options! Great happy hour specials too!
Iron Goat Pub & Grill
If you want to go here, make sure you make reservations! This place fills up fast! Great views and even better food!

Grassi Lakes Trail
This hike is in Kanaanaskis Park! It is an easy trail for those who want to be outdoors but don't want to work up a sweat. Follow the link to take you to the website to purchase a park pass and learn more about it!
Banff National Park
Banff is a beautiful place to visit! Downtown has lots of shopping (think North Face, Columbia, Lululemon, and gift shops) and places to eat (Banff Brewing Company, St. Jame's Gate Irish Pub). There is also the Banff gondola to take you to the top of Sulfur Mountain. If you are planning on visiting the national park, know that you have to purchase a parks pass. You can do it in advance, or you can wait until the day of and purchase one on your way into the park.
Lake Louise
This is an absolutely beautiful hike! This is in Banff National Park and this time of year, you can drive and park for free to do hikes around Lake Louise.
Banff Gondola
If you're looking to get a bird's eye view of the mountains, take the Banff gondola! Be sure to book your tickets in advance!
