The Byron Colby Barn 1561 Jones Point Rd Grayslake IL 60030
A block of rooms have been reserved under the Burke-Groot Wedding at the Comfort Suites - Libertyville Grayslake. The hotel is less than a mile away from The Barn; so kick back, book a room, and make a night out of it with us!
Using the RSVP page on this website, enter your name (or names) EXACTLY as they appear on your invitation. Matching it exactly as it appears on your invitation is important. You then will simply select Will Attend or Will Not Attend and click Submit RSVP. Please respond either way no later than 8/16/19.
There is parking available on premise at The Barn. It is a short walk from the parking lot to the ceremony or the reception/the barn. Handicap parking is also available.
The attire is cocktail and garden casual. This is certainly no black tie affair! Our ceremony will be outside, as well as cocktail hour (weather permitting). Ladies, be cautious with your shoe choices! Outdoor space is gravel, indoor space is a rustic wood floor. We would recommend your favorite wedge, block heel, or sandal - steer clear of stiletto's.
A whopping 2.9 miles. Uber credits will also be provided to anyone joining us for the after party. Let's travel safely!
We will have homemade kettle chips as an appetizer in the courtyard. Starting at 6:30, we will have a buffet-style dinner with the following food options: Fried Chicken, Pulled Pork, Burnt Ends, Slider Buns/Rolls, Homestyle Baked Pasta, Mashed Potatoes w/ Gravy, Buttered Corn, and Garden Salad. *If you have dietary restrictions or allergies we need to know about that will not be accommodated by the above, call or text Diana no later than August 9 - 630-290-5431
Yes, we will have baked pasta, salad, mashed potatoes, corn, and rolls available.
Contact Diana with said restrictions NO LATER than August 9, 2019. You can reach her on her mobile at 630-290-5431 or at dmburke7321@gmail.com. Texts welcome!
We can't even believe you're asking that. Our mama's (Hi Cindy! Hi Gail!! :)) didn't raise no fools. Open bar, all night.
There will be a code available on 9/6 for everyone joining us at Emil's. Simply enter the code and get free credits to join us at the after party! The code will only work for that drop-off location, only on 9/6, and only for those traveling via Uber. The plan is to have the code detailed on table cards at the wedding, so hopefully it will all be easily accessible.
We rented picnic tables for the day, Saturday 9/7, beginning at 12pm. Picnic Tables are located in The Park near the eighth-pole. The Track is super flexible and you can wander - go get food, get closer seats in the general stands, visit the bar (air conditioned!) or several other attractions/restaurants. Whatever floats your boat! If you have never been, we recommend you visit their website and click around. https://www.arlingtonpark.com/
Extremely casual! Shorts, flip flops, whatever makes you comfortable. Long story short, this ain't Churchill Downs
There are free and paid parking spots. Park in the Euclid or Northwest Parking Lot for either. General Admission to the park is $8 for adults (online purchase), $10 for adults at the Gate, and $4 for youths.
Absolutely! Arlington Park is very family friendly...and so are we! Feel free to invite family, friends, beaus, and gals - the more the merrier!
Love to! Inspired by the eco-friendly location of our wedding (see our home page for the full story!), we have arranged to have 160 trees planted in honor of the 160 guests at our wedding. Its a sweet gesture given D's love for pines, but also the right thing to do for the environment. We are aware that every action has a reaction, and want to give something back to offset the potential ecological impact of our wedding day.
