If the hustle and bustle of the city isn't your kind of thing, then Long Island also offers plenty of its own options. With hundreds of years of history documented across numerous museums, arboretums (including one less than 2 miles from our venue, the Bailey Arboretum), and activity centers spread all over the island, we think you're sure to find something fun to do!
New York City is a world-renowned destination for all kinds of activities - from historical tours and museums to the famous musicals and shows of Broadway, to zoos or aquariums or botanical gardens in every borough of the city (Geoff and Stacy loved visiting the Bronx Zoo and New York Botanical Garden and thus highly recommend both)! We strongly recommend the following website as it is perhaps the best-put-together compendium of all tourism information for the Empire State!
Whether you're flying in and have will be with us for an extra night or you live locally, Stacy and Geoff highly recommend the TWA Hotel located near Terminal 5 at JFK International Airport! The rooftop pool is open 365 days of the year (they keep it heated during the winter and can easily be seen by locating the gigantic cloud of steam coming off of it) and has a gorgeous view of JFK's busiest runway, 4L/22R. If you're lucky, you can also get some great close-up views of the world's largest commercial aircraft, the Airbus A380 (maximum takeoff weight of over 1.25mil lbs, the top of the tail is almost 80' tall)! We also recommend you grab a drink on the 1958 Lockheed Constellation they have parked out back (affectionately nicknamed the "Connie")!
