Before our Disney trip, Dan promised that he would not propose at Disney. And because Dan never lies, Alexis took him completely at his word. We spent six unforgettable days with our kids and family exploring Disney and Universal and making lifelong memories together. From late-night football games in the pool, sneaking into the Polynesian Resort, and missing out on the Hulk ride, to buying our first wands in Diagon Alley, riding the Hogwarts Express, and making Starbucks rope drop a daily ritual—it was pure magic. On our final day, we headed to EPCOT. The boys left early with their mom, while Dan, Alexis, and Dan’s parents decided to drink around the world. We started in Mexico and shared a drink in each country as we went. By the time we reached Germany—our fourth stop—Sarita suggested taking photos before the drinks really kicked in. We happily agreed. Near the water, Sarita pointed out the Snow White flower statue for the Garden & Flower Festival. Alexis immediately geeked out—Snow White has always been her favorite. Photos were taken of Sarita and Bob in front of the Seven Dwarfs, then of Alexis, and finally, “Okay, now you and Dan.” As they posed, Dan gently pulled away. Alexis turned to see him kneeling, holding a stunning pear-shaped aquamarine ring, asking her to marry him. Time stopped. An out-of-body moment. Then applause, cheers, and strangers stopping to celebrate with us. Reality eventually set back in- and the answer was an easy yes. We spent the rest of the evening celebrating around the world and ended the night with hibachi dinner. When we returned home, we were greeted with champagne and an engagement gift from Dan’s parents- perfectly closing a trip already filled with love, laughter, and magic.
