We met while working at SUWS of the Carolinas. The more we got to know each other we learned more about our common interests such as hiking, climbing, and biking. Eventually, Zach talked Elizabeth into going on a motorcycle ride and the rest is history.

Fall of 2022 we decided to take a 6 week road trip in our adventure minivan named "Scooter". We eventually found ourselves in Yosemite National Park. We decided to do the Half Dome Cables hike. Once at the top of Half Dome, Zach got down on one knee and asked Elizabeth to marry him with the beautiful Yosemite Valley view in the background.
