Before we ever even discussed the possibility of getting married, the two of us fantasized about it separately but with a similar vision: somewhere warm and beautiful, with the breeze in our hair, surrounded by our nearest and dearest. Add the charm of the Outer Banks and the fun of a destination wedding weekend, and it was the perfect fit for us!
Early on in the relationship, Gina called a very tired Kristi "sleepy bunny," and somehow the latter part stuck; Kristi called Gina "bella" because, quite simply, it means "beautiful" in Italian, and Kristi's the kind of person to throw on heaps of charm like that. Since our wedding is a gathering of some of our favorite people in the world, we wanted to showcase a more personal part of our relationship and let y'all in on the secret: that we're actually (gasp!) giant saps.
Gina will be dropping her last name and becoming Gina Mariel Genova, which is only slightly easier to spell.
Kristi and I aren't over-the-top people, and our wedding won't be either: it's a lowkey, intimate ceremony followed by a fun party, so the dress code is as casual as we are. Wear something you can dance in!
Fall in the Outer Banks is generally mild, with weather usually falling somewhere in the 60s throughout the day and a pretty small chance of rain. We recommend having a sweater on hand in case you get chilly.
Since the ceremony starts at 4:30, it would be a good idea to arrive shortly after 4:00 - of course, you can always arrive early and enjoy the Inn's gorgeous views of the Sound as you listen to some super-classy pre-ceremony music.
Wow, cut right to the chase, don't ya? Just kidding - it's something everybody thinking about attending a wedding wants to know! We will be providing a selection of wine and beer so everybody can eat, drink and be merry.
We need a final guest count by September 29 to finalize catering and logistical details with the venue. Please click the link above [this will be visible once invites have gone out] to let us know if you're going to be able to make it!
