Trey was working at a popular cafe in downtown Bellingham, Washington as a barista / events manager when Danyela (working as a night shift nurse) wandered in one afternoon during the early months of COVID-19 looking for coffee before a shift. They hit it off and became fast friends. After Trey slid in to Dany’s DMs (“direct messages”) on social media, complimenting her home coffee brewing setup (shoutout to her brother Sean for buying that great gift and basically being the reason she's not alone forever), she spent almost 3 months in hot pursuit before he finally admitted his mutual feelings for her. They began dating in the early months of 2021 and their love blossomed as the beautiful Pacific summer burst into life.
As the relationship grew, Trey and Danyela quickly realized that they had found their forever partner. Trey began proposal planning in the summer months and asked Danyela to be his ~*bride*~ on August 21, 2021 on an overlook at Orcas Island in San Juan, Washington (she was stoked, but she totally knew it was coming- can you tell that Trey is writing this? lol). Once the couple and the hidden photographers arrived down to the vehicle from the overlook, Danyela asked Trey for some "help" in organizing the trunk and with him distracted, grabbed a decoy box and dropped to HER knee, counter-proposing to Trey with a MacBook Pro. He knew she was supportive of his career in music, but he had absolutely no idea she would be ~forever~ supportive. After this turn of events, they went to dinner to be greeted by a surprise party of their closest friends (where she was actually so surprised and finally cried) at a local island pub in classic PNW fashion.
In a cabin on the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, Danyela and Trey realized that they were ready to be married to each other and didn’t want to wait any longer. They applied for a marriage license and tied the knot, celebrating their forever love on November 16, 2021, in Cornwall Park - the first place they ever said “I love you” to one another. They were married by Pastor Dax and shared the joyful news with their family and friends over the course of the next few weeks. Then began the wedding planning... :)
