FAQs

Question

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

Answer

If you have any questions other than what we've listed here, please reach out to us via our joint email address at lobitzfamily59@gmail.com. We appreciate your emails in lieu of text messages, as we have an amazing team of professionals assisting us with our wedding weekend, including our planner, Christy Avis, and our dedicated Group Rooms Coordinators. Email ensures we can provide you with the quickest and most accurate response and allows us to loop in our team without having your text message slip through the cracks. During our wedding weekend, all questions will be routed through our full-service Wedding Planner, Christy Avis, and her amazing team, and to similarly designated persons (more info to come!).

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Black Tie Optional: Our wedding will be a formal affair, and guests are invited to dress in black tie optional attire. Tuxedos or dark suits with ties are encouraged for gentlemen, and floor-length evening gowns, elegant cocktail dresses, or formal jumpsuits are encouraged for ladies.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Please check your invitation for the number of seats reserved in your honor. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Can I take photographs or videos during the ceremony?

Answer

Out of respect for the Church and the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony, we request that guests refrain from taking photos or videos during the ceremony and keep phones and cameras put away. Our photographer and videographer will be capturing these moments, and we look forward to sharing them with you afterward. We appreciate your shared joy on our wedding day, however, we are grateful for your cooperation with our fully unplugged ceremony.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

While we love your little ones, we are only able to accommodate guests who are specifically named on the invitation. If you are in need of any babysitting services while in Chattanooga, we recommend Southern Sitter LLC, a woman-owned company led by COO Cassie Donegan, who is also Miss America 2026/Miss New York 2025. Her website is https://southernsitter.com. Chattanooga also has a babysitting app called Otay- which is used by many of our colleagues regularly and for "parents' night out" sitting at the Common House Chattanooga, a social club we belong to.

Question

Is there a wedding registry? If so, where are you registered?

Answer

You can find our complete wedding registry here on our website (with the ability to purchase directly from our wish list) under the "Registry" tab at the top of this page.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests?

Answer

Yes! Please see the travel page on our website for details of our hotel blocks at the Westin and The Hotel Bo.

Question

What should I do if I don't make it into the room block?

Answer

If you miss the deadline to reserve a room in our block, reach out to the hotel and mention our wedding anyway—they may be able to accommodate you with our discount in a room outside of our block. If not, you can find additional nearby accommodations in downtown Chattanooga.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:00 PM. We recommend arriving 20-30 minutes early to allow time for parking and seating before the celebration begins. The shuttles will depart in time for your on-time arrival to the ceremony, with schedules being posted closer to our wedding date.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our afternoon ceremony will be indoors in the Church. Cocktail hour will be held on an outdoor paved patio (weather depending), and the reception will take place indoors. Guests will walk from cocktail hour to the reception on paved pathways, and via complementary golf cart transport. All events are on paved areas/indoor flooring, with no events occurring on unpaved areas/grass/lawn.

Question

What will the weather be like during the wedding?

Answer

Late October in southeast Tennessee/northwest Georgia brings stunning fall foliage and crisp, cool air. While days are often sunny and comfortable, typically ranging 60s-low 70s, temperatures can drop quickly after sunset. We recommend bringing a jacket or shawl for the evening. We will provide outdoor heaters during cocktail hour should the evening be cool. As our wedding approaches, we will check the weather frequently and provide updates, as it is notoriously unpredictable and could range from mid-80s to mid-40s.

Question

What type of food will be served at your wedding?

Answer

We'll be serving passed hors d'oeuvres and a charcuterie grazing board at cocktail hour, followed by a sit-down dinner with a choice of entrée. There'll be meat, poulty, fish and gluten-free/nut-free/vegan options available. We'll also have dessert and after-party snacks for those attending the late-night festivities.

Question

Will there be other events to attend on the wedding weekend?

Answer

All of our guests are invited to join us for a welcome cocktail party on the evening before our wedding, Friday October 23rd. Details can be found on our website under the "Schedule" tab.

Question

Will I experience attitude sickness?

Answer

Lookout Mountain, TN/GA/AL only reaches approximately 2,389–2,391 feet at its highest point. At this elevation, the oxygen level is very close to sea-level pressure and the risk of developing acute mountain sickness (AMS) is extremely low. All peaks in and around Chattanooga cap at this height. Altitude sickness, or Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS), typically occurs at elevations above 8,200 feet. While rare, symptoms can sometimes start at lower altitudes, such as 6,500 feet in sensitive individuals. Higher peaks nears are located 1.5 hours+ north of Chattanooga near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We encourage you to stay hydrated, rested, and use caution if traveling into higher-altitude areas of the State on your trip.
