Both the ceremony and the reception will be taking place outdoors. If you haven't, please go watch the video we posted on our Facebook group where we give a tour of our venue space.
Beach Formal/Cocktail *Please keep in mind that our wedding is on the sandy beach when choosing your footwear.*
We have vegan, vegetarian, and kid's menus. The caterer is able to accommodate almost anything. When you RSVP, you will be asked about any dietary needs. Please list them there and contact Brianna for these menu options.
Yes! The rate you pay includes your stay, unlimited food and beverages (alcoholic and non alcoholic), activities, entertainment, and taxes/fees. Each room has a mini bar with snacks (restocked daily)! There are 8 different restaurants for you to dine at and 8 bars/lounges. Plus complimentary 24-hour room service.
The rainy season in Costa Rica will just be coming to an end. There is a chance that it may rain. Otherwise, the weather will be sunny, humid, and 80-90 degrees.
Costa Rica is very close to the equator so don't forget your sunscreen. If you plan to go on excursions, definitely bring bug spray. Otherwise, plan some nice outfits for dinners each night and your standard beach outfits! Extras you could pack: Dramamine, aloe vera, DampRid, pool floaties, your favorite liquor in case they don’t have it (there is a duty-free at the airport), a beach bag, tennis/water shoes for excursions, cash for vendors, Bluetooth speaker, cash for tipping, non-slip sandals (the pool area is extremely slippery), refillable insulated mug with a lid. *Dreams Las Mareas is an incredibly remote resort and they know it! So if you forget things like bug spray or sunscreen, you can buy most things at the resort, but for a premium!*
Yes! Each room has a very nice steamer that you can use on your clothes. (Brianna has a video of this in case you'd like to see)
The colón is the currency of Costa Rica. US dollars and major credit cards are also widely accepted. Vendors for excursions prefer US cash, most do not accept credit cards. There is an ATM onsite but the fee is very expensive so it's recommended to bring cash.
Yes. A valid, unexpired passport is required. Also, it cannot be expiring within 3 months of your arrival date.
Yes, however, the further you get from the main lodge, the worse the wi-fi gets. By the time you get to the beach, there is no wi-fi at all. Most cell phone data plans do not cover Costa Rica without an international charge. So if you want cell coverage while at the lower pool, beach, or off-site excursions, check with your provider. Colton purchased international data for $10/day. (The wi-fi coverage does not extend to our ceremony/reception location)
Please ask us any questions you have! We are so blessed that you are willing to come celebrate with us and want to help make your experience as good as it can be.
