It was a tale as old as time, ye olde OkCupid app had us destined for each other from the start! Our first date was at Kingfish bar, mostly for the free popcorn. Peter had Whitney, hook line and sinker, with speak of machining and wood working skills, vice versa, Whitney had Peter the moment she professed her fascination and adoration for Noam Chomsky. Not to put too fine of a point on it, but the old adage "you know when you know" couldn't have rang truer. From the day of our first meeting we just didn't stop being together.
While it seemed the world had been thrown into a blunder, COVID-19 or no, Peter made plans to propose to Whitney on her 35th birthday. In our quarantined home, the morning started like any other, breakfast making, teeth brushing, birthday cake baking, when all of a sudden a jittery man came out of the bedroom with a special gift. Peter handed the gift to Whitney and as she began to open it he (ever the traditionalist) got down on one knee, that was when the tears began to flow. She opened the box to reveal the ring, the symbol of his love and commitment to her, Peter then said the words, gesturing to the outside world "Whitney Buchanan will you, ya know someday in the future, marry me?" As you might have guessed the answer was a resounding "YES!!!" More tears from both and hugs and kisses, and there was had the perfect quarantine engagement! Of course the engagement was made official by toasting in true Polish fashion with a shot of vodka, arms crossing and a solid Na Zdrowie!
