Bryn and Soc met in class in the winter of 2017. They became fast friends. Over the next two years they journeyed through college, Europe, and the decision to stick together. They started dating in 2019 and would spend the next two years seeing each other through (or despite) a pandemic and a long distance. Their journey from San Diego (where Soc was) to Santa Cruz (where Bryn was) started to shrink when Bryn moved to Morro Bay and then shrank even more when she moved to Long Beach. A year later, in 2021, they closed the gap and moved in to a tiny but mighty ADU in Long Beach. They have since adopted two cats, Waffle and Kanela, received a teaching credential, a master's degree and are in the process of attaining ANOTHER master's degree and a JD. During that time, they moved A LOT of furniture, cooked many meals, hosted many friends and family and explored the infinity of their L.A backyard. In 2025, Soc proposed to Bryn at the Culver City steps where they love to spend time together.
We love the train! We take it whenever we can.
We had just moved in together and decided we would drive from Long Beach to Pasadena (45 min during COVID; do not even try this now) and visit the Huntington Gardens. Fun fact: in order to get Bryn "off the scent" of the proposal, he had a diversion plan to head to these gardens instead.
Our first anniversary in 2020 was spent camping in Cayucos. We still cannot top this photo.
Unbothered by the Eiffel Tower on our second Europe trip we were looking forward to skiing later that week in the Alps. Soc successfully converted Bryn from an iPhone user to a (glorious) Android user during this trip, when Bryn forgot to close her pocket going down a sick blue run and lost her precious iPhone 8, shucks!
This was Bryn's first Christmas with the Kanetakis in Carlsbad. And, yes, it can get that cold in San Diego too!
This was Soc's first Christmas with the Andersen's in Morro Bay where he learned how good biscuits and gravy are and viewed Morro Rock.
This is our big apple trip to see our New Yorkers all walkin' in here. We loved dancing on Roosevelt Island!
We spent the summer of 23' in the Cyclades. Milos and Naxos are still our favorites.
