Question

What do I WEAR?!

Answer

We’re happy however you arrive—but why miss an opportunity to glam up? We want you looking and feeling fabulous! Nothing is too much when it comes to a fun, formal event. Here in the PNW, we can get trapped in the same work clothes we wear all the time and rarely get the chance to show off an outfit we’ve been coveting in the closet. Have fun with your ensemble. Be comfortable—but also shine! At this wedding, you can’t be overdressed—so go big, look good, and have fun with it! Keep in mind that the space is partially outdoors, so whatever you wear, make sure it’s something you can walk around in—on grass, dirt, or wood chips—and, more importantly, dance in! Costume changes encouraged.

Question

What's the weather going to be like?

Answer

Such a great—and nearly impossible—question! The Olympic Peninsula can be a moody little place, especially in the spring. We’re hoping for the best: fair weather, warm breezes, and sunny, clear skies. But we’re prepared for the worst: dark, overcast clouds, cold gusts, and the occasional sideways rain. Around here, we’ve learned to stay flexible and embrace whatever the day brings. Plan ahead and have fun with it! Bring that fabulous umbrella, a clear ’60s Twiggy-style raincoat, bold red rain boots—or lean into the timeless classic: flannel and extra-toughs as backup. Come layered and ready for anything. The venue is an indoor/outdoor space, so we’ll be covered (literally) no matter the forecast. There will be heat indoors and a few cozy fire pits outside to gather around as the evening goes on. Whatever you do, don’t forget your dancing shoes!

Question

What's the venue like?

Answer

The Quilcene Lantern is a beautiful property perched on the outskirts of Quilcene, WA. Owned by a small family who moved to Quil from the city, they might just be the sweetest folks around—generously opening up their space for public events like this one. The property is secluded, remote, and all ours for the night. Camping will be available on-site, and we encourage anyone who’d like to stay to camp. There will be port-a-potties and hand-washing stations, but no direct access to a plumbed bathroom, so we appreciate your courtesy and consideration. We’re big fans of outdoor living, so it only felt fitting to hold our wedding in a place like this.

Question

Why does this wedding go on so long?

Answer

Well, because, we're getting MARRIED!!!!!!and having our reception in the same location as our ceremony. Please feel free to stay for as long or as little as your heart desires!

Question

Can I bring a Date?

Answer

We hope we’ve included all the +1s we could imagine, but if you received an invite just for you—without a +—we would still be absolutely thrilled to celebrate with you and your glorious self. If we weren’t clear, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Baylin at 541‑525‑3434. We appreciate your understanding!

Question

Are you registered??

Answer

All we ask for is that you thoroughly enjoy your time celebrating with us! BUT if you feel so moved, we have set up a fund for our Honeymoon and Home improvement. We feel that we have enough "things" but we would gratefully welcome contributions of any amount to help us towards making a newlywed adventure possible.

Question

Can I bring my dog?

Answer

We love our furry friends so much, but understandably, the Lantern is a dog-free area. We kindly ask that you leave your four-legged companions at home. The following day, we’ll be having a picnic at Cheztamocha Park, where doggies are more than welcome on leash—and we can’t wait to celebrate with them in that setting! We appreciate you and your furry babies—thank you for understanding!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! But in all seriousness, planning a wedding has been one of the more enlightening adventures we’ve embarked on in the planning world. Organizing a bike tour through Cuba? No problem! Navigating the gravel and unmarked roads of remote Alaska? Easy peasy! Planning a wedding? Um… is there a masterclass on event coordination I can take over a weekend? To be real, so much of our planning and prepping depends on how many people we anticipate attending. RSVPing early—and through this website—is truly the best and most helpful gift you could give us. We love you! We want to celebrate with you! Just let us know that you’ll be there—and, perhaps even more importantly, if you know you won’t! xoxo

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We won’t be able to provide a shuttle to reach all the little corners of Port Townsend and the surrounding areas to bring guests out to the Lantern. However, there is a sizable parking lot on the property, and we don’t anticipate parking being an issue. If you’re planning on sleeping in your vehicle (van life), we recommend arriving a little early to ensure you get a good, flat spot. For those traveling in larger groups, we encourage carpooling if it works for your needs.
