Garden Valley is about an hour outside of Boise, ID, up in the mountains along the Payette River. Be prepared for more Rocky Mountain forest than potato fields. You might just see some elk along the road when you're driving up to our home for the weekend, Sixty Chapel! The cute little town of Crouch is less than a mile from Sixty Chapel, so you will have access to *some* civilization, but definitely prepare yourself for a mountain getaway!
Sixty Chapel is a 40+ acre ranch retreat property in the mountains of Garden Valley, Idaho. Since almost all of you will be coming from out of town, we chose this location because it is a one-stop wedding shop! Approximately 35-40 of us will be able to stay in the facilities on site Friday through Sunday. Sixty Chapel provides access for everyone to fishing, swimming, lawn games, wildlife viewing, and time spent getting to know one another. We invite each of you to hang out at Sixty Chapel the entire weekend: on Friday for the rehearsal dinner at the cabin, and on Saturday before the ceremony (which will be at the amphitheater on site, followed by the reception at the barn).
If you live in Boise, just drive up! If you're coming from outside of Boise, either fly into the Boise airport or roadtrip to the Boise area. We will be happy to connect guests flying in to carpool in rental cars. Almost everyone will be able to stay on site at Sixty Chapel. Instructions on how to book your accommodations at Sixty Chapel will be included on your paper invitation. If you are one of the few people who we will not have space for at the venue, we will notify you of this on your invitation. If you are dying to stay on site and are given instructions to seek out a rental in Garden Valley, please reach out to us so we can make changes to see how we can host you on site! We want everyone to be together as much as possible :)
August is usually the driest month in Idaho (often no rainy days at all), with an average high of 90°F and a low of 46°F. As lovers of nature, we will spend most of the weekend outside, so bring comfortable shoes, cool clothing, sunscreen, and maybe a hat! We'll be at about 3150 ft elevation!
We're hoping to see you all in your "Sunday Best" or "Business Casual" clothes. We're having a pretty casual event, so don't feel like you need a tux or a floor length evening gown! Please no sweatpants or t-shirts, though! Nice button up with slacks or a sundress/summer dress would be completely appropriate :) We will be outside for most of the activities of our wedding day, so please wear comfortable shoes!
We will be providing supper (that's dinner for all y'all non-southerners!) on Friday after our rehearsal. Get ready for a taco bar! On Saturday, we will provide a full BBQ buffet at the wedding reception. See the "Things to Do" tab for food options in Crouch for Saturday breakfast/lunch/brunch!
As much as we love animals, they are NOT allowed at Sixty Chapel. We ask that you find a pet sitter for the weekend so that we can all spend quality time together.
