Spend an hour or so shopping the vibrant floral bouquets, street food, and jewelry/clothing vendors, and then watch the famous fish-throwing before sticking a wad on the gum wall. Finish it all off with happy hour at Alibi Room or at Von's - two of our favorites!
It's iconic and speaks for itself. Plan for long lines though!
Located on Pier 59 looking out into Elliott Bay (where we got engaged!), spend an afternoon exploring marine life from the Pacific Northwest as well as from around the world. Make sure to check out their newest exhibit, the Ocean Pavilion.
Yes, it is a bit cheesy at first, but once you get buckled into your seat it is so much fun. Picture an indoor simulated rollercoaster that truly makes you feel like you are soaring across the most iconic areas of Washington State, with smells and everything!
Another staple of Seattle and located right next to Wings Over Washington on the pier. Do both! But if we had to choose one, we would say Wings Over Washington.
Pack some drinks and enjoy a beautiful sunset sailboat cruise on Elliott Bay, and get the best views of Seattle on your way back. This is how we got engaged :) the photo is us two!
Yet another iconic landmark of this state. Pack a lunch and head to Paradise where you will find numerous hiking trails to incredible viewpoints. Picking a clear day is best if you want to ensure seeing Rainier in all her glory. We came here on our 1 year dating anniversary and again on our 4 year!
Our favorite ski resort in the winter, and a great nature retreat in the summer. You can do so much here! Hike to alpine lakes and take a dip in the brisk waters before enjoying a picnic, access a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail for amazing views, or take the easy route and go up the Gondola to the summit where you will have one of the best view of Rainier you can get.
If you want to experience a ferry ride, a charming town with shops and restaurants, and more waterfront locations, Bainbridge Island could be a good option!
Located on the Olympic Peninsula, this would be best suited for those with a vehicle as it is roughly 4 hours away. However, it is home to some of the most natural beauty in the state. Incredible sandy beaches, tide pools, hiking trails, lush rainforests, Pacific Northwest wildlife, and more. We celebrated Zach's 30th birthday here camping on Second Beach.
Within the Olympic National Park is the Hoh Rainforest; one of the largest temperate rainforests in the country. Amongst the mossy trees and lush greenery, we have encountered Elk here - you may be lucky to as well!
