Things To Do

The Olympic Peninsula and Olympic National Park are filled with all sorts of sights and adventures, from the beaches to the rainforest to the mountains! This page includes recommendations right near NatureBridge, as well as other amazing spots up to 1.5 hour away. Lake Crescent is one of the top spots to visit in Olympic National Park, and guess what?! If you stay at NatureBridge Olympic you will be staying right at the lake! There is a swimming spot called Barnes Point just a two-minute walk from camp. You are also able to bring your own paddle boards, kayaks, etc. and can take off from there! Multiple hiking spots listed below start right near the camp too.

Marymere Falls Trail

Marymere Falls Trail is an easy 1.8 mile roundtrip hike that starts just a five-minute walk from Naturebridge, so you can take off right from camp! It is estimated to take just less than an hour and has 318 feet elevation gain. The trailhead starts at the Storm King Ranger Station which is at 106 Lake Crescent Road.

Mount Storm King is a hard 4.1 mile roundtrip hike that starts just a five-minute walk from Naturebridge Olympic, so you can take off right from camp! The trailhead starts at the Storm King Ranger Station which is at 106 Lake Crescent Road. Although this trail is not rated hard for distance, it has a big elevation gain! In the two miles going up the mountain you will ascend 2,106 feet. The last 1/4 mile is a steep, rocky trail that has ropes set up to help hikers get to the top. The views are stunning at the top, but please be careful on the steep section!

Devil's Punchbowl via the Spruce Railroad Trail is a stunning, easy lakeside trail that is 2.4 miles roundtrip and has 124 foot elevation gain. It is estimated to take just less than an hour. This trailhead is an 18-minute drive from Naturebridge. This trail also includes a fun little section that goes through a short tunnel. Devil's Punchbowl is an extremely popular swimming spot! So feel free to hop in when you get to the punchbowl!

Hoh Rain Forest

The Hoh Rainforest is truly one of the most enchanting and magical places, and we highly recommend going! There are several easy hiking trails that start from the Hoh Rainforest Visitor Center. The Hoh River Trail allows you to walk for as long as you desire! You will see large trees covered in moss, a beautiful river, and many ferns. This is 1.5 hours from NatureBridge.

Rialto Beach

Rialto Beach is a stunning beach near Forks, and one of the most beautiful beaches in Olympic National Park. This is a great spot to sit and take in the views of the Pacific Ocean! This is exactly a hour drive from NatureBridge.

Ruby Beach is known as one of the most scenic and popular beaches in Olympic National Park. This is a 1 hour 20-minute drive from NatureBridge.

Dungeness Spit Trail

Dungeness Spit is on a wildlife refuge on the Straight of Juan de Fuca and you can walk up to ten miles on the longest natural sand spit in the United States with beautiful water views. There is also a cute lighthouse! This is a 50-minute drive from NatureBridge.

Cape Flattery is the most Northwestern point in the contiguous United States and is on the Makah Reservation. It a very accessible 1-mile roundtrip walk that has a stunning view of where the Strait of Juan de Fuca joins the Pacific Ocean. This is a 1 hour and 40-minute drive from NatureBridge.

Adding this one on for the Twilight fans! Want to go to the land of vampires and werewolves? Forks, WA is where the Twilight Saga is said to have taken place, although it was not actually filmed there! It is known as the "rainiest town in the contiguous United States." This is a 45-minute drive from Naturebridge.

Hurricane Ridge

Hurricane Ridge is a great hiking area with lots of mountain views and a few different trails! The Hurricane Hill via Hurricane Ridge trail is ranked as moderate trail and is 3.4 miles roundtrip with 826 feet elevation gain. This is a PAVED trail. It is estimated to take just over two hours. This will start at the Hurricane Hill trailhead which is located at the end of Hurricane Ridge Road in the Olympic Mountains, just 1.5 miles past the Hurricane Ridge Visitors Center. This is about one-hour drive from NatureBridge.
