We spent a lot of time exploring the art on the East Side. This is a tour of some Austin's more prominent murals: some old, some new, and some of the murals on the list may have been painted over, but all of the art is beautiful. Please let us know if you need recommendations for starting points.
There a TON of craft breweries in Austin. We have a few favorites and Amanda even drafted some tours specific to different parts of town way back in the Before Times. Most of Austin's breweries offer outdoor seating and a wide selection of brews and new places open up all the time. Let us know how adventurous you're feeling, what you like to wet your whistle with, and we can make some solid recommendations.
Visit beautiful Mayfield Park and Nature Preserve filled with live oak trees, gardens, and free-range, real noisy peacocks (PS this is where we took those Save the Date photos). There is a lovely, light hiking trail that takes you down and around to Lake Austin in the Nature Preserve. Once you're done walking the grounds, head up the road to the check out the scenic overlook at Mount Bonnell and take in all of Austin from above.
Ever wanted to buy a mid-century modern sofa, an armadillo purse, a baroque lamp, and then go roller skating in one location??? Drive on up to the Austin Antique Mall and spend your time and your money hunting for treasure.
