Semi-formal / Garden party vibes The ceremony is on grass, so please watch your step if you choose to wear heels and avoid stilettos.
Both the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. There will be an indoor space available with restrooms and a quiet area for those who need it. Soka University is on a hilltop, so we expect a little wind during the event. If it gets chilly we will have patio heaters in the reception area.
The Athenaeum is located at the back of Soka University's campus. Please see the "Venue" tab for driving directions. You can also find a virtual campus map here: https://www.soka.edu/map/?id=883#!m/454540
Yes, free self-parking will be available at the venue in Lots D and E.
Please note any special dietary needs in your invitation RSVP or contact us in advance. Dinner will be served buffet-style.
Per Filipino tradition, we plan to do a Money Dance during our reception! This is an opportunity for guests to dance with the newlyweds while pinning $ bills to their clothes for prosperity. Participation with cash is encouraged but totally optional - if you wanna pin a handwritten message instead, go for it! The important thing is that we get to dance with you :)
Legally speaking, yes - we "eloped" and signed our marriage license at the Denver Clerk & Recorder office on February 14. 2022, on the 10th anniversary of our relationship (and Valentine's Day!). But due to the pandemic, we postponed our ceremony & reception celebration until this year. We are so excited to finally share this moment with all of our cherished friends & family!
