We were introduced to each other by friends at the Downtown Disney Rainforest Cafe who were trying to "set us up" as a couple. And guess what...it worked! The sparks flew when we started quoting anime and Youtube abridged lines to each other via nerd-to-nerd communication. Not long after we had our first date at the Buena Park Mall movie theater and have been inseparable ever since.
We moved into our first shared apartment together in the CA Bay Area, along with Bry's rabbit at the time Twitch. Our space was little but cozy, and we loved taking walks to our favorite cafes & brunch spots on weekends and exploring the hilly streets of San Francisco nearby. But after a few years of living in one of the most expensive areas in the country, we figured it was time for a change of scenery.
Being born & raised in California, we took a huge leap of faith and moved all the way to Colorado to continue both of our educational pursuits. It's been a fun journey adjusting to actually experiencing all 4 seasons while still getting random bouts of snow (in May?!? like why??), being away from the beach, and missing SoCal food. But we've also loved the beautiful mountain views, opportunities to grow in our academic/professional lives, and awesome friendships we've formed along the way here. (Building better resistance to the cold is a plus!)
We started off the year strong by (1) announcing our engagement WHAAAAT and (2) welcoming an adorable new addition to our little family - Biscuit! He is the cuddliest, fluffiest, and most hilarious kitty we've ever met and loves being spoiled with affection & treats. His adoption has been one of the best thing to happen in our lives. (definitely more important than getting engaged, right? ...at least Biscuit thinks so.)
To celebrate our 10-year anniversary, we decided to make things official. COVID-19 was still running rampant, so we kept things simple and signed our marriage license at the Denver Clerk & Recorder's Office on Valentine's Day...in face masks! (see pics under the “Cute Photos” section 😉) We capped it all off with a fancy steak lunch for 2 and then headed home for a chill afternoon of watching TV on the couch with Biscuit. It was perfect for the time.
After a long postponement of an actual wedding event, it's finally time to celebrate our union together with family & friends at a venue that is incredibly memorable for both of us. We're SO excited this day is finally here and can't wait to celebrate with you!
