Flying to Truckee

The easiest way to reach Truckee is by flying into Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO), about a 35/45-minute drive away. From the airport, you can rent a car or use a shuttle/rideshare to get to Truckee. If you prefer a scenic route, you can also fly into Sacramento (about 2 hours away) or San Francisco (about 4 hours away) and drive through the Sierra Nevada. We recommend renting a car for flexibility, as local transportation options are limited.

Driving to Truckee

If you’re driving, the easiest route is via Interstate 80, which runs directly through Truckee. It’s a scenic and well-maintained highway that connects to major cities like Sacramento (about 2 hours west) and Reno (about 45 minutes east).

Train to Truckee

You can also take the Amtrak California Zephyr, which stops right in downtown Truckee. It’s a scenic and relaxing option, with routes from the Bay Area, Sacramento, and beyond. The station is centrally located, and you can walk or take a short ride to most local accommodations.

As the wedding venue is about 15 minutes outside of town, we will offer a shuttle to and from the SpringHill Suites hotel throughout the night. Best Western Plus Truckee-Tahoe Hotel

Another great option, though it is a little further from Historic Downtown Truckee if you do not have a car. Also note, we will not have a shuttle from this hotel.

The Truckee Hotel is an excellent option if you are looking to stay somewhere that is within walking distance of Historic Downtown Truckee.

Gravity Haus is a beautiful modern boutique hotel close to Historic Downtown Truckee. It is also home to one of our favorite restaurants, Stella.

Airbnb

There are many great Airbnb options in Truckee; however, there are only a couple in the Glenshire neighborhood (the location of the wedding venue). We would also suggest looking for options near Historic Downtown Truckee, especially if you will not have a car. There are some beautiful spots along the Truckee River! If you have a car and/or are staying with a big group, staying near Donner Lake is a fantastic choice.
