Travel + Accomodations

We are planning on doing some type of get together with everyone on Thursday evening, June 18th, so come in by Thursday if you can! We will be there starting Monday, June 15th, so join us earlier if you're able to! This is vacation time! There are plenty of hotel options in San Jose. We will be staying at Cabo Azul Resort. You can search google maps for Cabo Azul and see other hotels in the area if you want to research beyond the options below.

Flight

Los Cabos International Airport (SJD)

Fly into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). Right now, airline tickets are inflated because of what is happening in China. Our recommendation is to continue to check airline rates and/or set rate alerts to see when the prices start to adjust back to normal. Also, keep in mind that the best day to book flights for the lowest rates are Tuesdays. Airport is a 20 minute drive to the town of San Jose del Cabo (wedding and hotel location). Please see next section for additional information regarding airport transportation.

Travel Note

Shuttle from Airport to Hotel

We recommend pre-booking your airport transportation through Transcabo. The cost is $16 per person or $84 for a private van up to 7 people. The shuttle will take you directly to your hotel. Otherwise, a taxi costs about $40-$50 and you must negotiate the price prior. You can find taxis outside in the arrival area. We typically don't recommend this option because it's more of a haggle with the taxi drivers.

Hotel

Cabo Azul Resort

Paseo Malecon San Jose S/N, Fonatur, Zona Hotelera, 23400 San José del Cabo, B.C.S., Mexico
 (800) 438-2929

This is where we will be staying. We will be there June 15-22. Feel free to come whenever you'd like! Currently they are offering significantly discounted rates so if you plan to stay at this hotel we would recommend booking ASAP. When we booked on 2/15 rooms started at $130 but they continue to go up daily. NOTE: If you book online on the Cabo Azul website, it is a non-refundable booking. If you want the flexibility to modify your reservation or need to cancel for whatever reason, it's advised to book directly with the agent we are working with, Shaina. Email her at Shaina.leilua@diamondresorts.com and she will schedule a time to get on the phone and book for you. This is how we did it and she was extremely helpful and got us the best possible rate. PLEASE SEE THE NEXT SECTION FOR ADDITIONAL NOTES AND BOOKING INFORMATION FOR CABO AZUL.

Travel Note

Additional Cabo Azul Notes - PLEASE READ

You get the best rates if you have AAA, AARP, or are ex-military. If you have any of these you are not charged for the room until you arrive to the hotel and it is refundable if you cancel up to 48 hours in advance. If you don't have AAA, it is probably worth getting because it is very inexpensive and the savings on the room outweighs the AAA membership. IF YOU BOOK AT THIS HOTEL, PLEASE TELL SHAINA YOU ARE WITH THE BRUSH WEDDING SO THE HOTEL CAN IDENTIFY EVERYONE IN OUR PARTY AND TRY TO PUT US ON THE SAME FLOORS OR CLOSE TO EACH OTHER. Some of you may want to consider sharing a room to save costs. The smallest room (Junior Suite) can accommodate 4 people.

House Or Rental

AirBNB

If hotels just aren't your thing and you want your own place, there are many airbnb options available in San Jose Del Cabo, or even on the east cape. This could also be an option for people who want to go in on a place together. Keep in mind if you are on the east cape (beaches are the best!), you will definitely need a car. Check the link if AirBNB is more your thing. Car rentals can be a bit expensive in Baja, so factor that in if you are staying further out from the resort.

Travel Note

IGNORE VENDORS & ACTIVITIES SALES PEOPLE AT THE AIRPORT AND AT RESORTS

Cabo is notorious for attempting to sell you a time share in the most clever ways possible. This starts at the airport. Frequently you will be approached with questions like, "Where are you staying? What activities do you want to do? Do you need a rental car?" etc. If you engage with them, they will do whatever they can to get you to go to a "90 minute breakfast presentation" and they will offer you many gifts for agreeing to go - free rental car, free fishing trip, free night at a hotel, the list goes on. JUST IGNORE THEM AND SAY "NO THANK YOU" with a smile. They're all very friendly and mean no harm, they are just doing their job, but we are trying to save you from hours of wasted time and getting roped into timeshare presentations. No free gift is worth this, we promise :)

Rental Car

Rental Car

You do not need a rental car in San Jose for most things, unless you plan on visiting other beaches such as Cabo Pulmo, the East Cape, Todos Santos, etc. We will probably rent a car for a day or two to do specific excursions outside of San Jose/Cabo because there are some beautiful beaches to be seen! You can arrange a rental car directly from the hotel and skip the entire airport hassle, which is our strong recommendation. There is also a National Car Rental a few blocks from Cabo Azul. If you want to drive to some of the best beaches in the Baja, please be advised that they are dirt roads with sand, so a low clearance economy car will not suffice. You will need an SUV of sorts.

For all the days along the way
