We have known each other for what feels like forever, having attended the same schools 3rd-12th grade. From the very beginning, one thing that has defined our friendship and relationship is how ruthlessly competitive we are with one another. We competed for the highest grade in nearly every class assignment, every bonus point, and even academic awards; always taunting the other when we won. For John, this diehard competition sparked what became a 7 year long crush on Olivia. During the first two years of high school, we were in marching band and most classes together, strengthening our friendship, and leading John to finally get the courage to ask Olivia out... which she promptly declined. And while this was heartbreaking, you're about to attend our wedding, so don't give up on us so quickly. Fast forward a year and a half to our Senior year, we became good friends again and to John's amazement, when he asked Olivia out once again, she actually said yes! And thus our journey to forever began. Resilience in the face of challenges has defined our relationship, with 5.5 years of long distance due to college and careers. However, we have simply used that distance as an opportunity to be intentional about what we want our relationship to look like, sparking our love for travel and adventure as a couple. We've had wonderful times around the US, in Michigan, West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Florida, Kentucky, Indiana, and of course Ohio. We've also enjoyed some international adventures, going to Canada, India, France, and most recently - John surprising Olivia with a question in Switzerland! And so, as we prepare for this beautiful sacrament, we look forward to spending our wedding day celebrating the start of our forever with all of the people that helped us get here. We can't wait to have you catch us competing to see who can say "I do" first at the altar :)
