For a touch of history, visit the Castle of Ali Pasha in Himara. This castle provides a glimpse into Albania's Ottoman past and is beautifully situated on a small peninsula. Ali Pasha, an influential Albanian ruler who served as Ottoman pasha of the Pashalik of Yanina, had a deep affection for his Orthodox wife, Vasiliki. Despite their religious differences, he respected her faith and even built a small church near the Castle of Ali Pasha in Himara for her. This gesture symbolised his love and acceptance of her Orthodox Christian beliefs. Here, at the top of the castle—Bruna's favourite spot—Georgy proposed, making it a memorable and romantic place for them. ❤️
