Nate: We met at a concert called the Lone Bellow. It was love at first sight. For one of us. I was over the moon for her. Dani was just okay with me. Dani: As the new girl in town, I was asked to go on a double date with my boss to some concert of a NPR band I had never heard of. I went because I thought she might fire me ;) Ann thought I would get along with her weird brother-in-law. Which in fact we did as much as we could have, but the timing wasn't right. For either of us. Both: After a couple of months, and despite the distance between Fairview Heights and Nashville, Tennessee, (290 miles to be exact) Dani and Nate took advantage of every opportunity they had to be together: listening to music on Beale Street, enjoying early mornings at the lake, picnicking in Central Park, attending a reception at the White House, Christmas shopping in Chicago, fly fishing in Breckenridge with family, and escaping on many jaunts to the Big Easy. Including one very special trip. Nate planned a surprise trip to Louisiana in November 2017 to a little houseboat on the bayou--a perfect location to almost fall over his knee into the swamp when he proposed. It couldn't have been a better 70 degree day, complete with a sunset in the Cypresses in our kayak, zydeco at Whiskey River, and a private five course Cajun meal! He thought of everything!
