FAQs

Question

What is the wedding attire?

Answer

Hill Country Semi-Formal. Long semi-formal dresses for the ladies (bright spring colors encouraged!), suits or blazers for the gentlemen. Texas family and friends: "Western Formal" — including starched jeans and boots — is a great choice. Chicago friends: standard suits are perfect, no Western wear required (unless you've been waiting for an excuse).

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

If there wasn't an open bar, the bride and groom wouldn't show up either. So yes — come drink with us!

Question

Will children be invited?

Answer

To give all of our guests a night of relaxation and revelry, we've chosen for our wedding day to be an adults-only occasion. As much as we love the little ones, we want all parents to join us for late-night fun without the worry of bedtime.

Question

What is the "Catholic Gap" & what should I do?

Answer

Our ceremony ends at 3:00 PM and cocktail hour at the ranch begins at 4:30 PM. Since St. Mary's is in the heart of downtown, we recommend exploring Main Street — grab a glass of wine at a local tasting room or browse the boutiques before heading out to the ranch.

Question

How will we get to the reception at the ranch?

Answer

St. Mary's and La Bonne Vie Ranch are about a 15-minute drive apart, with plenty of parking at both. Since rideshare in Fredericksburg can be limited, we recommend renting a car for the weekend or arranging a local car service in advance — it gives you the most flexibility to explore the Hill Country on your own schedule. Carpooling with other guests is always a great option too!

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

We've reserved hotel blocks at the Hampton Inn & Suites and Fairfield Inn & Suites in Fredericksburg — full details on the Travel page. Plenty of Airbnbs and rentals available too if you're coming in with a group. Book early — April is peak bluebonnet season!

Question

What's the weather like in early April?

Answer

Hill Country spring is unpredictable in the best way — think mid 70s and sunny with a chance of a breezy 60° evening. We recommend layers and a wrap for cooler moments under the pavilion.

Question

Is there a registry?

Answer

Your presence is the only gift we truly need — but if you'd like to celebrate us with something more, our registry lives on the Registry tab above.

Question

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

Our dinner will be a formal plated service with entrée choices. Vegetarian options will be available, and our chef can accommodate most allergies and dietary needs (vegan, gluten-free, etc.) with advance notice. Please let us know when you submit your RSVP.

Question

What time will the reception end?

Answer

The celebration at the ranch wraps up at 10:00 PM — but keep your ears open for after-party details ;)

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to venue capacity, we are only able to accommodate the guests formally listed on your wedding invitation. We appreciate your understanding!
