We’re getting married!

As many of you probably already know, Brooke and I met while working together at a bar. Well, more specifically, while I was working at a bar and she was being paid to hang out. While there, trapped for hours and hours, dealing with countless very drunk idiots, we bonded over occasionally sneaking shots to keep our sanity - well, maybe it was more “frequently” than “occasionally”. Brooke was always my pickiest customer of the night, even though she wasn’t paying me for them. In fact she was being paid while taking them! Despite this, I would always track her down wherever she got placed for the night, sometimes on separate floors even, using our shots together as a pretense to say “what’s up”, even for just a second before one of us had to get back to doing stuff (me). Eventually, after work one night and probably taking a couple too many of those shots together, I built up the courage to go in for a kiss and the rest was history! We started dating during Covid which made things incredibly complicated. Planning new fun things for us to do when everything in the world was shut down was an impossible task. Still, we managed to have some amazing times doing some things I would never have thought to try! Some of my favorites included: Drive-in movie double headers! Requires: 1) Air mattress and lots of pillows in the back of a Jeep. 2) CVS run for lots of snacks. 2) Driving very sneakily to the second movie because they didn’t actually do double headers there. Glow in the dark indoor putt putt! Requires: 1) Masks (required by law at the time). 2) All her friends loaded into a party bus. 3) Losing to Brooke because I stink at all things golf... just kidding, I still beat her soundly. Sneaking away to Mexico! Requires: 1) Brooke having a travel credit she had to use because her pre-Covid friend trip got cancelled. 2) Lots of Covid tests and even more Pina Coladas. 3) Hand feeding our Coati buddies (Mexican raccoons)… very much not advised to hand feed them, but good luck telling Brooke that. Anyways, it didn’t take long for me to realize I couldn’t get enough of this girl, so I asked her to move in, built a home and a life with her, asked her to marry me, and here we are!
