How we met

First comes school, then comes marriage...

We met during our first week of dental school when my roommate held game night with some classmates. Instantly, we became friends and later study partners! Read below for more on how we began dating...

When she knew

God knows best

When I first met Wiles, I was attracted to his work ethic, intelligence, and strong faith in God. We lived in the same apartment complex, and I had many opportunities to get to know him at the start of dental school both in and out of the classroom. Immediately, I was blown away by what a gentleman he was, and I could not believe that he was single! We often found ourselves in deep conversations about life and what we wanted in a career, marriage, family, etc., and I prayed that God may bless him and bring someone special into his life. Within a month or so of getting to know him more, I then found myself praying, “God please give me a chance with Wiles!” At last, that opportunity came when one of our classmates put on a birthday celebration in the form of a "Wig Party". By the end of the night I confessed my crush to him and to my surprise, he reciprocated the same feelings! Unsure of such a new relationship concurrent with school in full force, we proceeded with caution. But every week my feelings grew stronger for him, and we continued to get along and navigate school and our new relationship together. I knew that Wiles was the one when through the trials of school and some health issues that Spring, he stuck by my side. It was just so natural and easy to be with him. I can’t wait to spend forever with my best friend!

When he knew

Change of plans

When I first met Brooke, I was immediately in awe of her drive and aspirations. She is what we call in our family an "it "girl. An "it " girl is a young woman who is an all-around American girl making life seem effortless. She was noticeably beautiful, brilliant, funny, great story- teller, laughed at herself and I was enamored. Even after our first conversation, I was impressed with her drive, confidence, and thought out plans for the future. To say she made a great first impression would be an understatement. I knew if the opportunity to date her ever presented itself, I was not going to let it pass. After two months of school and allowing our relationship to flourish as friends, I was able to sit down and reveal my feelings. I was very pleased to hear that my feelings were matched. Fast forward a few months of dating and getting to know each other on a deeper level, we found ourselves at our weekly bible study in a local breakfast spot called Peach Valley. Halfway through our meal, we started talking about future plans and where we saw ourselves in 15 years. As I began verbalizing my plans, I noticed that I was unconsciously including her in all of them without even realizing it. It was the first time in my life that I had ever considered someone else to be the center of my plans versus just me. It was no longer my plan, it was OUR plan. It was in that moment that I immediately realized that I couldn't imagine not having Brooke in my life moving forward.
