Things To Do

Madison Falls Trailhead

1930 Olympic Hot Springs Road, Port Angeles, WA 98363

Where we eloped! There is a beautiful view of the Elwha River, or you can walk 0.1 miles on a paved trail for a view of the waterfall. Great for kids or those who want to try a nature walk rather than a hike. This is a quick 15 minute drive from Port Angeles.

Hurricane Ridge

3002 Mt Angeles Rd, Port Angeles, WA 98362

Where we got engaged! Go early in the day to avoid lines into the park. It's a 40 minute drive up the mountain to the trailhead. Alternatively, the Olympic National Park Visitor's Center is on the edge of town. There is a short, flat trail that leaves from the visitor's center parking lot that is perfect for a nature walk with kids. If you decide to head up the mountain, there are breathtaking views of the Olympic Mountain Range and endless hikes into the rest of the park. There are some paved paths, but be prepared for elevation and moderate hiking if you plan to explore deeper into the park.

Feiro Marine Life Center

315 N Lincoln Street, Port Angeles, WA 98362

One of our favorite activities in the area! A cute little aquarium in downtown Port Angeles with a very knowledgeable staff. Great for kids!

New Day Eatery

102 West Front Street, Port Angeles, WA 98362

Our favorite restaurant in Port Angeles! It's right downtown with fun shops to explore nearby. This a great option for anyone with dietary restrictions as they have extensive dairy free and gluten free options.

Granny's Cafe

235471 U.S. 101, Port Angeles, WA 98363

A cute roadside cafe with great regular and veggie burgers.

Lake Crescent Lodge

416 Lake Crescent Road, Port Angeles, WA 98363

One of the places that Olympic National Park is most famous for! A good spot for a meal with a view or an easy hike to Marymere Falls. Only 30 minutes away from Port Angeles.

Sol Duc Falls

Sol Duc Road, Port Angeles, WA 98363

A ways out of town but worth it for the waterfall views and rainforest experience. From Port Angeles, drive 29 miles west on Highway 101, then turn off at Sol Duc Road. Drive 14 miles to reach the parking lot and trailhead. This area is also famous for hot springs!

Hoh Rainforest Visitor Center

18113 Upper Hoh Road, Forks, WA 98331

If you have time, it's worth it! Drive 68 miles west on Highway 101, turn at Upper Hoh Road, then continue for 18 miles to reach the visitors center and trailhead. You'll need to go early in the day or later in the evening to avoid lines. This is sincerely our favorite place in the world and we come back at least once a year. Featuring easy hikes and an enchanting experience in an old growth rainforest. If you go, you have to stop at the Hard Rain Cafe and Peak 6 Adventure Store! Our favorite places that offer coffee, food, and souvenirs. The extended Peterson family own both businesses as well as the Hoh Valley Cabins next door. They are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and they're Cougs!
