A cherished gem from our time living in Gilbert! Agritopia offers a delightful mix of experiences. Stroll through charming neighborhoods, enjoy delicious pizza at the local barn Fire & Brimstone, or unwind with a drink at the winery, Garage East. Plus, don’t miss the brewery, 12 West—there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
This is our favorite hike in Arizona and was one of our first dates. During rainy season, you will see many waterfalls on the trail along the canyon. The superstitions have a special place in our hearts, and we cannot wait to celebrate amidst the mountains. Also, a great place to be if you seek time alone away from the crowds!
If you enjoy circling around a parking lot for a spot to park and overcrowded trail, we recommend Camelback hike. I had to include this to guests who do not seek solitude when in nature.
One of our favorite breweries in town with a great PB&J burger and sour beers!
Explore the beauty of the desert landscape at the Desert Botanical Garden. With over 50,000 desert plants on display, it’s a stunning oasis showcasing the unique flora of the region. Wander through themed trails, enjoy seasonal exhibits, and immerse yourself in the tranquility of this botanical wonderland.
If you have the time, instead of the Botanical Gardens, our favorite Arboretum is Boyce Thomas Arboretum, about 45 minutes drive outside of Phoenix. Discover the diverse beauty of the desert at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. With over 300 acres of gardens and trails, this arboretum offers a captivating array of desert plants, vibrant wildflowers, and serene landscapes. Enjoy scenic walks, educational exhibits, and breathtaking views of the Sonoran Desert. It’s a peaceful retreat for nature lovers and a perfect spot to connect with Arizona’s unique flora.
Sometimes we go to this place, and I tell myself, oh I can totally create this piece of art. Also, admission is free on Wednesdays!
For those seeking adventure, the Red Basin Clam Beds hike is a must! This 8.5-mile (13.7 km) round-trip trail takes you through a mesmerizing landscape of petrified wood, ancient petroglyphs, and striking erosional formations like hoodoos. Experience the vibrant badlands, deposited over 215 million years ago, and marvel at the fascinating fossil clam beds along the way.
Instead of going to Grand Canyon, why don't you do me a favor and check out Antelope Canyon. Make sure to book a reservation with a guide, it's required!
Enjoy exploring the awe-inspiring slickrock.
