Michael's brother, Carl, works here, so we love hitting up Little Goat for brunch and seeing our favorite server. Literally everything on the menu is fantastic, so you really can't go wrong.
If you want something quick for breakfast on your way out of town Sunday morning, grab a donut or breakfast sandwich at Do-Rite. We walked here often from Michael's old place and would split the Vera Cruz and Denver sandwiches (get them on a donut bun, too!).
This is our favorite cocktail spot in the city. They have a rotating/seasonal menu and are known for their gin drinks, so have a couple and maybe even get a to-go bottle of Scofflaw gin to take home with you, too.
We had our first date here (!) in Brooke's old neighborhood back in 2017-- with the corner spot + windows allowing for so much great light, this is the perfect place for a daytime drink.
If you'll be in town Friday night before the wedding and like live music, you should hit up Rosa's. It's a small blues club a couple blocks from Brooke's old place, and we've had a few real great nights there.
We love our new neighborhood, so if you're wanting to get out and explore it (Wicker Park/Humboldt-ish) with some shopping + coffee + roaming around, we'd suggest you also grab a slice from our local pizza spot! It's not *only* deep dish here in Chicago. :)
If you're doing any shopping while you're here, there are lots of great spots in both West Loop and Wicker Park. Asrai is one of our favorite shops (there are locations in both neighborhoods!) and also happens to be where we found Brooke's engagement ring.
If you plan to do some sightseeing while in town, we recommend the architecture tour on the river -- it's such a cool way to see the city, and you learn a lot of interesting info along the way.
We had one of our favorite meals ever at Roister awhile back to celebrate our anniversary -- if you wanna treat yourself while you're in town, go here!
