FAQs

Question

What should I wear? Is there a theme?

Answer

Think COLOR! Don’t be afraid to stand out! Be yourself and come dressed for a good time!

Question

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Up to you! Consider this: if you are renting in Budapest and flying out of Vienna you will have to pay for the change of drop off. If you’d like to sign up for transportation see the Travel page for our wedding planner’s email to do so! OR message Brooke with your exact details (pick up time/location) and she can set it up for you!

Yes! Just let us know when you rsvp please

Question

Are kids welcome?

Always!!

Question

How can I get around Budapest?

Answer

Budapest is tourist friendly! You can walk, ride the tram around, or download the Bolt app on your phone (just like Uber)! https://bolt.eu/en/cities/budapest/

Question

Where can I stay for the night of the wedding?

Answer

There are a few cottages available walking distance from the venue and you can find them listed on the Travel page! Alternatively, the nearest and largest town to Polány is Kaposvár with many different hotel options which are also listed on the Travel page! Feel free to check out Airbnb’s along Lake Balaton or other nearby towns! Make sure to check the proximity of whatever you book to the venue: Baberliget Kuria!

Question

What should I bring?

Answer

Check out the Schedule page for what we’ll be getting into! Bathing suit for the thermal spa, walking shoes for sightseeing, don’t forget your wedding outfit, AND your best self!

Question

How is the weather there?

Answer

Very similar to New York’s climate so most likely it’ll be around 70 degrees F/21 degrees C! Pack layers, in case it gets chilly at night you can cover up, and if it’s hot in the sun you can strip down! Do your best to pack light so you can bring some things home from your trip too (;

Question

What about money in Hungary?

Answer

The currency in Hungary is called Forint(HUF) and the conversion from USD is: 0.0028 (: We suggest taking out at least a few bills to have on you during your trip just in case! Some of the markets won’t accept card and it’s good to have on hand as a backup. However, your credit cards will work just fine! Major banks no longer ask for travel notices, but if you’d like you can give them a heads up where you’ll be!
