We met on Bumble, as millennials do. Brooke was living in Annapolis, MD, and Chelsea was living in Arlington, VA - opposite sides of the world by DC standards...also not at all overlapping by dating app radiuses. How did we do it?! Thank goodness Brooke fired up Bumble while at a friend’s house in Arlington, a few blocks away from where Chelsea was living. After matching, we started chatting on the app and quickly became excited to meet. Chelsea had a trip to Boston for a job interview scheduled that weekend, so we had to wait. Our first date was the next Wednesday - August 7th! Hours before the date, Chelsea received an offer for the Boston job - great news! Until she met Brooke. To say we “hit it off” is an understatement. We quickly began to spend all of our time together… we’ve actually calculated it… since meeting, we have spent 13 days apart (13 days too many tbh)... Chelsea turned down the job and the rest is history!
We quickly knew that this relationship was what we had both always wanted. In February of 2020 we went ring shopping in Georgetown with the understanding that we would both be proposing at some point in the near future. We found rings we LOVED. We left thinking we would explore other options "just in case." In March of 2020...well, you know. As weeks turned into months, we couldn't wait any longer. We ordered the rings.....and then kept trying them on. "Ring's First Netflix Binge"... "Ring's First Beer!"... "Ring's First Sleep!"... "Ring's First... oh no... we are wearing these all the time." The details: We did a double proposal, meaning we each (separately) proposed! Chelsea proposed on a Friday in a beautiful sunset picnic along the Potomac by FDR (Brooke LOVES the monuments). Brooke asked the next night in downtown Annapolis in an empty ballroom with exposed brick and twinkle lights (Chelsea LOVES historic things with character). These were the best nights of our lives... the only thing that was missing is YOU. We can't wait to celebrate our love with our closest family and friends. Thank you so much for being a part of our special day.
