We kindly ask that you RSVP by June 15th.
The two closest airports are the Durango-La Plata County Airport and the Montrose Regional Airport. Both are located approximately an hour from Silverton. We recommend getting a rental car at whichever airport you fly into. Ubers are not available in Silverton.
Shortly before arriving at the venue, there will be a parking area to your left. There will be signs to make sure you don't miss it! You will park in the parking lot and a golf cart will pick you up and take you up the hill to the venue.
We're expecting the temperature to be in the 70s at the start of the ceremony. Nights in Silverton are chilly, with temperatures often dropping into the low 40s. We will have outdoor heaters and space to warm up indoors. Additionally, we recommend that everyone brings a jacket to stay extra warm!
Our venue is located approximately 8 miles, or 20 minutes, outside of the town of Silverton. From town you will take County Road 2 all the way to the venue. After a few miles, the road will transition from pavement to a dirt road. The unpaved portion of the road receives a lot of summer traffic and is well maintained. Four wheel drive is not required. Phone service is spotty in this area, but there will be plenty of signs to guide you. Please check back later for more detailed driving directions! Additionally, please let us know if you are not comfortable driving from Silverton to Eureka Lodge. We will gladly help arrange transportation for you!
Silverton is located high up in the mountains at an altitude of 9,318 feet. If you are traveling in from the southeast and are not accustomed to spending time in areas of high elevation, you might experience some mild altitude sickness for the first 24 hours. The best way to prevent this is to drink plenty of water on your arrival day. Additionally, it may be helpful to spend your first night in a town at a lower elevation, such as Durango or Montrose.
This area of Colorado is home to lot of wildlife such as moose, black bears, big horn sheep, elk, mule deer, and mountain goats. Viewing these animals from a distance is an incredible experience, but it's important to avoid close encounters with them. Please be very careful driving at night as well as dusk and dawn. We recommend avoiding driving on Highway 550 between Durango, Silverton, and Ouray at night, especially if this is your first visit to the area. Additionally, if you venture into nature, we recommend staying in groups and being aware of your surroundings. If you see any large wildlife, please avoid approaching them. If you plan to spend extensive time hiking in remote areas, please consider purchasing and carrying a can of bear spray.
