The wedding venue is in the center of Tuscany, near a town called Pienza. The following link from the venue is helpful in listing neighboring towns and places to explore: http://www.borgosantambrogio.com/en/i-dintorni/ Visits to these towns and Cortona would be something we can coordinate amongst those who have rental cars. The bride and the groom plan on sticking around for a couple days after the wedding to explore Tuscany with those who are up for it. Florence is not far and is an ideal place to spend a few days after the wedding events, see also recommended travel spots in Travel page.
Tuscany in September is ideal as the days are still warm and the evenings start to cool off. Layering is recommended. Swimsuit, comfortable walking shoes, hat for the heat of the day, loose and flowing dresses, cool fabrics, all your fashion-forward picks for the season ;) Cars are a lot smaller in Europe and you'll likely be moving around, so keep that in mind when choosing your suitcase. Lastly, Tide travel sink packets can be a life saver.
Weather permitting, we will have the ceremony in the garden.
SATURDAY- We have one room available at this time for a flat in Rome, let us know if you're interested. SUNDAY & MONDAY- We will be renting out Borgo Sant' Ambrogio (the wedding venue) for Sunday and Monday nights. The cost of each room is $250/night, and the eleven rooms have been assigned on a first-come first-serve basis. Options very near the venue: Please check out B&B La Casa De Adelina (Monticchiello) and Il Torrino -Daria Monticchiello.
Feel free to make the trip what you want it to be. We will offer activities for those who are interested for Sunday through Wednesday. Tuscany is all countryside with small towns and may be difficult to navigate without a rental car, so we encourage those traveling together to rent a car in Rome so that adventures while near the venue and afterwards will be possible.
