Yes! Altitude sickness is real and anyone can be susceptible to it! The way to avoid it is to make sure you are hydrated, taking it slow the first day or so (listen to your body!), and eating! Make sure to always have water on hand. Be careful with alcohol consumption and if you have been active, make sure to hydrate before getting into a hot tub and/or enjoying alcoholic beverages. I’d recommend bringing ibuprofen or another medicine to help with potential headaches. Yes, there will be complimentary parking for guests that are not staying at the Westin but want to attend the Welcome Reception and Farewell Brunch. For those that are staying at the Westin, there will be a nightly parking fee of $35.
If you are not staying at the Westin and need to drive to catch the bus to the ceremony & reception, there are a couple options. You are able to park at the Westin for $45 (it’ll have to be their overnight parking). You will be able to pick up your car at any time - so no need to fret if you get back to the hotel 11pm or later! There are a few public parking areas in Avon, but I would do research before leaving your car. Many do not allow overnight parking and we won’t be getting back to the town before 9pm. You can check out the different public parking areas here: https://www.avon.org/935/Public-Parking
Typically it’ll be hot during the day (it is a mountain-desert climate) & get chilly at night. I’d recommend bringing at least one jacket or pullover for the weekend. During the summer you can expect a few late afternoon showers or thunderstorms but they usually only last about 15 minutes.
