A chance work encounter spun into something extraordinary: It all started with work — Tristan came to Arizona one December for business, and fate (or corporate travel) had other plans. He fell head over heels pretty much instantly. I had just started working for the same company he was visiting, and though our first interactions were professional, something more was quietly starting. After he returned to St. Louis, we only chatted here and there for work. But the following October, I found myself in St. Louis for a work trip. Tristan asked me out on the second day I was there… and I turned him down (sorry, not sorry). Still, we spent a lot of time together that week — and that’s when things really changed. Together, we embarked on a spontaneous 36-hour road trip to pick up an abandoned car in Indiana (yes, really). We stopped in Chicago, got lost at 2am and spent the entire trip talking non stop. About everything. Love. Life. Family. Faith. Boundaries. Dreams. Kids. Our pasts. Our futures. That trip connected us in a way neither of us expected. A week later, we went to Kansas City together, still talking and falling fast. Our first kiss? Tristan handed me a single rose… and then kissed me. From that moment on, we both knew — this was something special. Two weeks later, I met his wonderful family and he officially asked me to be his girlfriend. Days later, I left to visit family out West — but we talked constantly, even falling asleep on the phone, to wake up still connected! After Thanksgiving, I moved to St. Louis… and into his house. We were all in. We attended a friend’s wedding in Destin Florida after Christmas. When we saw that wedding, we both knew, a beach wedding was the right kind of wedding for us! Marriage was a conversation we found ourselves having early on — even on the Indiana trip — but after a few months together, those conversations got real. We knew what we had. Two weekends after Mother’s Day, Tristan took me to a winery with his family and proposed!! It was pure magic. I was so overwhelmed with joy, I forgot which hand to give him — so he had to grab the right one himself. Turns out, he had designed the ring with help from my dad and planned every sweet detail. A week later, we jetted off to Italy with Tristans family — cruising from Rome to Venice, ending in Germany with even more memories. Now, here we are — planning the happiest day of our lives, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us. We can’t wait to celebrate our love story with you and make more memories!
