We have traveled and lived in many places across this country and overseas. We know this will be a "destination" wedding for everyone and want this to be more of a fun-filled vacation for all our friends and family. Here are some great things to do while you are in upstate New York!

Boating on the Hudson River

A visit to Vermont's Bromley Mountain

Two hours away in the state of Vermont is a wonderful family park with a large variety of activities to enjoy like an Alpine slide down the mountain!

A visit to NYC

Take a day (or two) trip into the 'Big Apple', New York City! The train from Hudson to NYC is a beautiful 2-hour train ride.

Howe Caverns

255 Discovery Drive, Howes Cave, NY 12092

The cave tour consists of a 1.25 mile walk with a 0.25 mile boat ride. There are also 139 stairs throughout the cave tour. Very fun for kids of all ages.

Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome Airshow and Museum

America's first flying museum of antique aircraft. Air Shows are every Saturday and Sunday at 2PM. The Saturday “History of Flight” program highlights the Pioneer era before WWI, a WWI Show teaser, and the Golden Age of Aviation in the ’20s and ’30s. The Sunday Show is our WWI dog fight spectacular with a hero, a heroine, the villainous Black Baron of Rhinebeck, scenery, pyrotechnics and a WWI tank. The supporting cast includes many antique automobiles.

Drive In Theaters

Greenville Drive-In and Hi-way Drive-In Theater are a fun way to spend the evenings.

Hunter Mountain Scenic Skyride

Scenic Skyride is the perfect family activity and features our six-passenger Kaatskill Flyer detachable chairlift. This state-of-the-art lift, whose comfort will remind you more of a gondola or cable car, will take you in comfort to the 3,200-foot summit of Hunter Mountain. From there, you can enjoy amazing views for a sightseeing trip of the high peaks of the northern Catskills. September 9th – October 15th: Saturdays & Sundays only (10am-4pm*)

Thomas Cole National Historic Site

Thomas Cole was an artist who worked from 1836 until 1848. Cole founded the influential art movement of the United States, now known as the Hudson River School of landscape painting.

Hudson Chatham Winery

Hudson Chatham Winery is Columbia County's first winery starting in 2006. Historically the property began as a dairy farm founded in 1790's. The winery focuses on hybrid varieties ideal for growing in upstate New York. Grown on the 15 acre property is Seyval Blanc, Baco Noir, Chelois, Chambourcin, Dechanauc, Burdin and Le Colonel.
