Josh picked me up from my house that evening, after I had been anxiously pacing for about a half hour. Just ask my mom. True story. Josh is a BBQ kind of man, hence the reason we are having it at our wedding. He took me to Bobby's Q for dinner. We were seated in a one sided booth, sitting side by side. Little did we know the significance of this magical booth. We weren't sure if accidentally bumping elbows was acceptable or awkward. Nonetheless it was a delicious and wonderful evening. Now we look back on it and laugh hysterically, and each time we go back, we try to be seated in that special booth. He then took me to a spot by Tempe Town Lake where we walked and talked about life for about three hours. He didn't kiss me that night - what a gentleman.
So, Josh is really into collecting older video games. He had recently ordered a GameCube on eBay and said he needed to pick up an extra part at a video game store in Tempe. He said, "Since we are going to be down there, let's go to Postino's, too." It's one of my favorite restaurants. So we ate, swung by to get the game part and then we decided to stop at "our spot," the spot along the lake where we had our first date. He walked me out on the dock and asked me to marry him. I had no idea...at all, and I'm so grateful for that. The way he proposed, the place he proposed and the intricate details he worked out to make it all happen shows me just how thoughtful Josh is. I can't wait to marry him.
