Things To Do

Blanes old village

Blanes old village

Between Sa Palomera and the harbor lies Blanes’ characteristic old village. It is home to many fine shops, restaurants, and tapas bars. Blanes has a fruit and vegetable street market every Monday through Saturday from 8am to 2pm on Passeig de Dintre, centrally located in Blanes, and is most known for its fresh fish, specifically its prawns (gamba de Blanes).

Jardí Botànic Marimurtra

Jardí Botànic Marimurtra

Spain

Located in Blanes, in Costa Brava, the Marimurtra Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful gardens on the Mediterranean. It also happens to be the venue of our wedding ceremony :) At the top of steep cliffs running along the sea, you can enjoy one of the most spectacular panoramic views over the coastline and get to know more than four thousand plant species, most of them exotic, as well as several specimens that are extraordinary because of their age or size. Open: Monday to Sunday from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Castell de Sant Joan

Castell de Sant Joan

This is the one of the most distinctive symbols of Blanes. The castell was built in the 13th century and its perfect location turned this building into a strategic point for defending the city back in the day. It also offers stunning panoramic views of Blanes! Open: 6:00 am - 11:00 pm

Girona

Girona

Spain

If you're looking to extend your trip in the Costa Brava Region, we recommend checking out Girona! 40-minute drive from Blanes- stroll through its historic Jewish Quarter, admire the Cathedral (where Game of Thrones was filmed!) and walk along the colorful houses lining the Onyar River.

Tossa de Mar

Tossa de Mar, Spain

Another option for if you're looking to spend an extra day in the area. Explore this charming town with its medieval walled fortress, cobblestone streets, and beautiful beaches, just 30 minutes away from Blanes by car or bus.

Obviously Barcelona!

Obviously Barcelona!

Barcelona

Spend a few days before or after the wedding in Barcelona. A few highlights include: La Sagrada Familia: The largest unfinished Catholic church in the world, La Sagrada Familia towers over most of Barcelona in the heart of its central downtown. Designed by famous Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, construction is still ongoing after over 140 years (massive cranes around the church are an understood aspect of the view). Park Güell: Another one of Gaudi's works, Park Güell is a privatized park filled with gardens and mosaic works throughout the walking space. Located just north of the central downtown area, the Park also requires tickets bought online in advance The Gothic Quarter: The Gothic Quarter is an area of Barcelona with many shops, bars, restaurants, and beautifully crafted streetways, and is also regarded as one of the early homes and locational influences of 20th-century artist Pablo Picasso.
