How We Met

In August, 2013, Britt and Nick moved into the same residence hall at SUNY Oswego. A short time later (within about a week!) they met for the first time during a "community building" event the Freshmen Only dorm organized at Bev's Ice Cream on Lake Ontario. Britt thought Nick's name was Joey, because he "looked Italian." Nick told her he was in fact Greek (Britt loves all things Greek), and the rest was history :)

The Proposal

After dinner at The Pearl Restaurant in Wellfleet (Cape Cod), Britt and Nick were supposed to go to a bonfire at the beach with Britt's family. Britt was very confused when Nick said he wanted to walk down to the beach near the restaurant, before the bonfire at a different beach. He convinced her to go for a "quick walk" anyway. As they walked down the beach, Nick began to panic as he didn't see the photographer where he specifically asked her to be. Afraid the big moment would be missed, he sent a few frantic (yet sneaky) texts to the photographer. After a short walk, Nick saw her standing in the tall grass next to the beach. He kneeled down on one knee and asked Britt to marry him. Though the tears and crying, she managed a "yes." After photos with the photographer, they drove to the beach where there'd be another surprise. Some of their closest friends and family were waiting for them by the bonfire just as the sun was beginning to set. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.
