The Appalachian Hotel at Mountain Creek Resort

You are invited to stay at the resort where we are having our ceremony and reception! You must call to get our room block rates, which we highly recommend, as it will save you a significant amount of money. There are other weddings at our venue on Friday and Saturday, so we do not have as many rooms blocked out on those days. Rooms will be available for the night of the wedding, May 17th. For Thursday through Saturday, if you are told no rooms are available in the block, you can ask if they can book you a room outside the block (ask for pricing). Otherwise, please see our other hotel recommendations on this page. We highly recommend you stay at the Appalachian Hotel on Sunday night because the ceremony and reception are on site, and you will be able to walk to your hotel room after the reception. Black Creek Sanctuary Town Homes

There may be a couple of town homes available as part of our room block, so feel free to call and ask about them. These town homes are not right on the property but are a short distance away. They offer huge condo-like suites, private amenities, and are a more expensive option. A hotel shuttle will take you back here after the reception should you choose this option.

Flight

Newark Liberty International Airport: EWR

EWR will be the most convenient airport to fly into for our wedding since it is located in New Jersey and is only a little over an hour away from the venue. It's also a large airport with plenty of flights. If you choose to fly into any other airport, please note it will be more difficult and expensive to get to the venue.

Getting to the Venue from the Airport

Be careful when entering the hotel into your GPS. The Appalachian HOTEL is not to be confused with the Appalachian MOTEL. And although the hotel is connected with Mountain Creek Resort, make sure you enter the hotel name specifically in order to end up at the hotel entrance. Also, we think it's important for you to know that getting here will involve driving on some winding two-lane mountain roads. If you would prefer to drive in daylight, please plan your trip accordingly.

Transportation

If you are flying in from out of town, renting a car is highly recommended. Please consider teaming up with another guest to share the cost of a rental car and coordinate flights accordingly. Parking is included for all hotel guests. As of right now, Lyft and Uber both offer rides from EWR to Mountain Creek Resort for $80-100 for a non-shared ride. Consider teaming up with other guests to split the cost of your ride. You can also inquire at the airport taxi stand about taking a yellow cab. Please keep in mind ride services are limited in the small town of Vernon Township, NJ. When returning to the airport, please allow plenty of time to find transportation, as it may require a significant wait time and there is no guarantee of availability. We have been told people have better luck with Lyft than Uber. If you are coming from New York City, feel free to look into New Jersey Transit to Dover, NJ. However, Dover is still 40 minutes from the hotel.

- The shuttle is available Friday from 5 pm-11 pm, Saturday from 7 am-11 pm, and Sunday from 7 am-3 pm. To get the shuttle service, please call (862) 849-0804. You may also try the front desk at (973) 864-8019. - Ice machines are located on the first floor across from A126 and the 4th floor across from A430. - Pool hours are 10 am to 10 pm. Pool towels are available at the front desk. - The gym is open 24/7. -The biergarten is open 11 am-7 pm. It occasionally stays open later. -The inside bar is sometimes closed, but if you ask the front desk, they may be willing to open it for you! - Check out time is 11 am.

An adorable bed and breakfast just down the street from Mountain Creek and the Appalachian Hotel! This would be a great option for Friday and/or Saturday night if you need it. It is conveniently located to area attractions, including the places you may find the brides hanging out! We have stayed here before and enjoyed the warm hospitality and delicious homemade breakfast!
