The version of their love story that most of you know isn't quite the entire story... Their very first meeting was in Spring 2006 at a track invitational at Ravenna High School. Brittany was sitting with friends while Desmond and his teammates were walking around. They approached Brittany's group and began conversing. Brittany and Desmond exchanged numbers, became friends and frequently supported each other at sporting events during their senior year of high school. In 2007, Brittany left for Xavier University (Cincinnati) and Desmond was recruited to play football at Morehead State University. The two would talk via social media and less on the phone until communication stopped all together. They remained Facebook friends and would post likes, but their personal friendship didn't survive. Nine years later, however, a miracle happened. The Cleveland Cavaliers won the 2016 NBA Championship. The parade was advertised on the news for days. Brittany had no intention of going but was talked into it by a close friend. She posted on Facebook that she was downtown for the event and a familiar face commented asking to meet up for the first time in years. Despite the heat and the large number of people cramped into small spaces, Brittany and Desmond spent the day together and had an amazing time. They decided that their friendship was something worth rekindling. As time went on, the two became closer and made communicating a priority. In April 2017, they decided to make things official and that summer, Desmond met Brittany's two boys, Ryan and Royce. The life they talked about creating was quickly becoming a reality. Desmond proposed to Brittany on February 23, 2018. Thankfully, she said yes. In October, they welcomed their third son, DJ, to their blended family. They will share the joy of their wedding with all of you on July 6, 2019.
