FAQs

Question

Can I wear shorts to the reception and/or ceremony?

Answer

NO! Please dress in formal wear. There will be no shorts, jeans or beachwear allowed.

Question

Do I have to tip?

Answer

YES. Please everyone who is coming to our wedding tip like an American (other than at the wedding). Cole and I typically tip $20 a day if we are staying in one place (like the pool) all day and/or use the rule of thumb, which is a $1 per drink.

Question

Can we leave the resort?

Answer

Yes, unless you are the wedding party. Due to STRICT entry security, we ask that those in the wedding party NOT leave the resort until after the wedding.

Question

Are the drinks displayed, the only options?

Answer

No! Always ask the bartender and/or server if you have a liquor preference, they sometimes hide the good stuff. Cole and I always drink Don Julio when we are in Mexico and this resort hides that in the fridge behind the mixers... you're welcome!

Question

Is this 4:20 friendly?

Answer

NO. Mexico has a VERY STRICT no drug policy, and even if you are caught with the smallest amount of anything, you will be thrown in jail on felony charges. Note that in Mexico you are "guilty until proven innocent". Keep in mind that even if a drug is legal in your state of residence (i.e. marijuana in California), it is still illegal in Mexico. So please be smart and let's have fun the right way!

Question

Does the resort cater to allergies?

Answer

YES! Cole and I, collectively, are almost allergic to life. Tell the staff if you have any food allergies or preferences and they are happy to accommodate.

Question

Did you check your passports?

Answer

Check your passports to make sure that they won't expire prior to November/December 2019 (as it's recommended that you have a buffer of at least 6 months when traveling to Mexico). Renewing your passport can take 2-3 months, so we recommend starting this process sooner rather than later.

Question

TIPS!

Answer

- Bring a thermos for your drinks... it is all inclusive BUT your drinks melt really fast and I have found this to be a trick that helps your drinks last more than 5 minutes. - Bring your hangover cure - the shop in resort is pricey. - Bring snacks for your room that you prefer. The resort is all inclusive but that does not include little snacks for in between meals. - DON'T FORGET sunscreen - Have fun and don't forget... One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, FLOOR!
