Terraplen La Posita de Piñones
Calm beach, "natural pool" Great for kids. Not much food or shade so be prepared. About 10 minutes from the hotel.
La Factoría
Ranked number 32 on the list of best bars IN THE WORLD! Secret passages lead to 6 different bars all with a different vibe and music! (Including a techno/EDM room!)
El Batey Bar
Our favorite bar in Old San Juan. Great bartenders/drinks/people/vibes. Great late night spot. Pool table.
La Placita de Santurce
This area is a hub for great restaurants, intriguing bars, and all-night salsa dancing. You'll find live music on every corner and people dancing in the streets. This is one of the main nightlife areas in San Juan (the other being Old San Juan, they are about 10-15 min uber ride between the two spots). Would recommend starting your night here around 6-8pm.
Tasca El Pescador Seafood Restaurant
We came here randomly with a pretty large group on a rainy night not expecting much. Its a family owned spot in the heart of the La Placita area offering fresh seafood with Puerto Rican flare. The husband and wife team treated us like family, offering us shots of their homemade coquito and other treasures. Pro tip: Try the fried red snapper. Casual dress.
Old San Juan
Old San Juan is about a 15 min uber ride from the hotel and the main nightlife spot in San Juan. So many fun places to dance, drink, eat, explore! My favorite place to hang in the evening, but also lots to see and do during the day! Our plan is to bop around here Saturday night! Of course, everyone is welcome to join!
San Felipe del Morro Castle
Fort built between 16th and 18th century, if you're a history buff, take a tour! Also check out Castillo de San Cristobal near by!
Café Marquesa
Our favorite brunch spot located in Condado area (10 min drive from hotel). Great food, great brunch cocktails and coffee drinks. Try the Tea Party! Not for big groups....probably not more than 4.
El Yunque
National Rain forest, mountains, clear rivers, waterfalls, hiking etc etc... I would recommend a tour to get to the coolest spots... If you don't take a tour, you will need to rent a car to get there. Its about 35-40 minutes from the hotel and while I think an Uber will take you out there, it might be hard for you to get back.
La Taberna Lúpulo
For my fancy beer lovin' friends...this is the one you want to check out. For sure.
Playita del Condado
Great for swimming and snorkeling! Very chill waters, no waves. Rent chairs and umbrellas for cheap. Small food joints across the street with pina coladas!
Marmalade
Eclectic restaurant with amazing tasting menu with wine pairings. Fancy.
La Casita Blanca
Restaurant recommendation from a born and raised Puerto Rican patient of mine! Looking forward to trying it out. Great reviews, seems very casual! Traditional Puerto Rican food!
