Christopher Uthoff

Best Man

I thought long and hard (giggity) about choosing my best man. I trust and love all these men with my life, but Chris and I have a deeper bond that was fused by metal many years ago. As a guitar player, he writes the most shloovulous riffs. I wish I could go back in time to those late night jam sessions. We would stay up until 3am, then wake up a couple hours later to carpool to work. Life was much easier. Now the shloove lives in Vegas so we don't talk because he's a Raider's fan. Lol I'm kidding. Meeting Chris can be intimidating but don't let his tallness fool you. He's a big teddy bear at heart, the 2nd nicest person I know, and will make you smile with his unmistakable laugh. Always can count on him for anything. I love him like a brother and to that we give a Toast to the Gods!

Victoria Chuidian

Maid of Honor

Viki and I met while out with friends in Hollywood around April of 2010. We decided we HAD to hang out immediately. Just barely knowing each other, we stayed up laughing all night, drinking wine, eating goldfish crackers, and sharing dating horror stories. Through every high and low since, we've been there for one another. She is my forever-foodie-date, scouting out the best seafood in town. She's my emotional crutch, my thrift-store aficionado-stylist, my dog's favorite auntie, and one of the best people you'll ever meet.

Tyler True

Groomsman

Where to begin? Dena started the ball rolling when she introduced us. Shortly after, Brit and Tyler became roommates. I swear they were like brother and sister. I would sit on the couch and watch Family Guy while they argued about pasta that apparently cooked itself. We were destined to become friends. We would hang out Thursday-Sunday and never miss Tuesday nights at the Roxberry. Always a good time and never a dull moment with this human. I wish there was an appropriate story to tell but that's Tyler for you. He's my truest, spontaneous, down to earth, atomic friend. If I ever need anything at 4am, I can always count on Tyler to be awake, ready to FaceTime me while he's dancing in the middle of a club. Knock Knock, who's there? Your friend James and he's always going to be there for you.

Adria Penilla-Cornwell

Bridesmaid

Adria and I met through mutual friends around April 2013. We bonded over a shared sense of humor, Taco bell bean burritos, and always knowing what the other was about to say. We quickly became those annoying friends that were always in their own little world. Adria is also a sincere and kind-hearted person that I am lucky to have as a friend. Living worlds away now has not stopped us from daily over-sharing, venting about life, our latest skin/hair purchases, self-deprecating humor, and compliments that we "really needed today."

Joseph Nazarian

Groomsman

Sloppy Joe, Joe Nazarrati, Joe Papi, No MoJoe...and the list goes on. My only friend with 17 nicknames and I gave him 15 of them, your're welcome. The first day we met on the Kandy Kruise, he shaved his head. We instantly became friends. With our Birthdays just days apart we decided to celebrate it the following year. After nearly dying and shaving ten years off of our lives, we vowed not to do the trifecta weekend again. Joe is one of the smartest guys I know but also a cartoon character. I swear one time I shaved his eyebrows and they grew back in 5 minutes lol. He is also the only person that I can always count on...to lose in fantasy football. He is the third nicest person I know, very thoughtful, and can light up a room with his energy. Joe is like the little brother I never had.

Lesley Roberts

Bridesmaid

I met Lesley around February 2012 at a "Superheroes" dance party. Yeah, that's a thing. I was wearing green tights and a red cape, and she was in a Batman outfit. We danced before we even spoke, and that's been our way ever since. I was first in her phone as "Britnie Superwoman." She was more the superwoman though: a workaholic, ambitious, smart human, that still has the best rap battles and dance-offs, and heart-to-hearts with me. We grew as people, and friends together.

Justin Jabuka

Groomsman

Justin and I were introduced by Dena. Justin, being the nicest man on earth, we bonded immediately. Chris and I eventually moved in with Justin and tried to ruin his life lol. We all thought it would be a great idea to adopt puppies at the same time, it was. They wreaked havoc in the house but we loved them to death. They say when you live with someone you get on the same wave lengths. We would play charades against the girls and they would get livid when we would win. We would guess the charade before we were done acting. Explosion! Watching Justin going from KO to a loving, caring father has been very inspiring. He is very determined when he puts his mind to something but his achilles heel is chocolate. Besides being an amazing person, Justin can without a doubt teach you how to dougie.

Kayla Burckard

Bridesmaid

I met Kayla on the Groove Cruise Miami in January 2015. She was wearing a multi-colored Lisa Frank onesie, and I was wearing purple lingerie shorts with a vest that Adria claims she "tried to talk me out of." Although meeting in a bizarrely hilarious way, we became true friends quickly. Because Kayla is honest, down-to-earth, genuine, and a sweet soul, someone that's hard to find in crazy L.A. So I grabbed and held on tight! We've made an array of memories including each grabbing an end of her over-sized suitcase to get it down the London subway stairs, breaking a bike-lock with a giant rock in Ibiza with the of aid of only-Italian speaking gents, and simply laughing on the floor of her apartment trying to assemble her bedframe. We've laughed and cried and got through it all together.

Mike Batterton

Groomsman

About 12 years ago, Mikey B and I met at a small gym I was managing with my buddy Aaron. He was working out on some ab machine and literally the first words I spoke to him was, "Hey don't forget to re-rack your sissy weights" lol and now we're friends. Looking back, the only thing I missed about living in Corona was Miguel's (Mexican food chain) and the shooting range. When Mike wasn't working out his calves, we were eating at the Wood Ranch or at the range. I always know I can count on him, especially if there's a metal show. He's the biggest gym rat I know and has a big heart. Even though he is a Dodger's fan, we still love him. Mikey B is strong willed, honest and he's always down for a pool party.

Amanda Delcambre

Bridesmaid

I met Amanda around 1988-ish, 86-87 were blurry. We shared a room, and I wanted to do everything she did. She was quick-witted, tall and thin, and everything I wanted to be. She was great at picking, making jokes until you cried. At one point, I wasn't sure if we liked each other or had anything in common. We grew up, went on different paths, moved farther away, and then I realized how similar we were. We have the same sense of humor. No one knows me better than she does. I'm so lucky to have her. She makes me laugh until I cry, encourages me and builds me up, inspires me, teaches me how to be selfless and humble. I think it takes a lot of arguments and door-slams and "I'm telling Mom's" to gain the most special, unbreakable bond, that you will forever hold close to your heart.

Robert Warren

Groomsman

My oldest friend Robert Anderson Warren or RAW for short. I've know Robert since middle school. My brother introduced us when they were in band together and we've been friends since. We basically grew up together until Robert moved away for college. It feels like yesterday when we would all hangout and pitch in for gas so he could drive us everywhere in his Honda Civic. Ten dollars went a long way. It filled up the tank and would last for like 2 weeks. We would hangout at Sunken City with our little crew and eat Busy Bee sandwiches. He's been like a big brother to me. Always caring for my family, watching my back and keeping my head straight. One thing that I love about Robert is that he is always down to eat. You always need that one friend who's down to go on a mission for some food.

Sophie Irby

Bridesmaid

Sophie and I went to high school together in Groves, TX, but became good friends in college circa 2005. I was an immature kid with no life skills, and she was a self-sufficient adult with a strong personality. We lived together in Houston before I moved to LA, and she taught me how to "adult." She motivated me with her spirit, kept me in check, and became my friend for life. I still load the dishwasher with the same precision, get nostalgic jamming to the oldies, and cherish our friendship that spans the decades. Thank you Sophie for your patience in dealing with me when I was the most loathsome, for your infectious tenacity at life, and for carrying this messy little adolescent into adulthood that made me who I am today.

Peter Villanueva

Groomsman

Okay this is the last time I mention Dena. Pete is Dena's husband, so you can imagine how we've met. I've known Dena since middle school and when she started dating Pete, we all stopped hanging out with Dena because Pete was soo much more fun lol just kidding. Being older than us, I felt like Pete was the father of our group of friends. He always knew what we needed before we needed it. He would take care of us when we would hangout together and was very knowledgeable about everything. If he tells a story, you better bet he'll mention Joe Rogan lol. Seeing Pete and Dena grow together and start a family has been a blessing. We've had a lot of great memories with them and one thing is for certain, Pete loves fish. He is a very humble, caring and thoughtful husband and father.

Dena Monroy-Villanueva

Bridesmaid

Just a few months in LA, through my friend (and groomsman) Tyler, I met Miss Dena in January 2010. She was a tiny, beautiful, strong little woman. Our next meeting she said "Meet my boyfriend, Pete." They were kind, and fun, and found my fresh-from-TX accent amusing. They also made me feel safe and at home in my new city. A few months later, Dena invited her "old friend from high school named James" over to a holiday party at my apartment. She has been there since the beginning of both my LA adventure and my life with James, a steady rock that kept me grounded, had my back, and pushed me to be my best. Plus she always shares the best and most hilarious re-caps of all our memories :) (i.e. don't tell dena!)

Mike Le

Officiant

We spotted him across an overcrowded hotel room. The HVAC blowing his long luscious hair in slow motion. He vibrated with the music. His necklaces pulsating with the bass. Was this a dream? Who is this guy? He introduced himself as Mike Le. And then we didn't see him for a year. We became good friends and laughed about our weird first meeting. He is always smiling, a dynamic character, that will write an eloquent essay on how great you are just because. He's a jack of all trades, a wizard, a magician; if you need something, he will make it appear. He's a positive soul, he sees the best in every person. He enriches your life, with peace and love. We are honored to have him as our officiant, and we couldn't think of a person better suited. We could all be a little more like Mike.

Makena Monroy-Villanueva

Flower Girl

Makena was born to Dena & Peter Monroy-Villaneuva in April 2017. The couple from San Pedro that led to us meeting and falling in love, that we watched from their early relationship, to marrying, buying a house, and having children. On Makena's second day of life, we went to their house to meet this new addition to our group of friends. She was the most beautiful baby, and the tiniest thing you had ever seen. It has been a joy of ours to watch her grow into a hilarious, smart, curious, lively little girl.
