We first me while working at the same hospital in 2010.  It was one of those platonic situations: “Hi! How are things in life going? How is work life?” etc. Love and romance were definitely not in the cards at that time. Contact was lost for several years, as our personal and professional lives took different paths, however, in 2018, these paths realigned and a true friendship developed. This friendship blossomed into the union that you see today!

How We Met

New Orleans, Louisiana is Rickey’s childhood home, and has always been a place that we love to visit.  We decided to have a quick getaway during December 2021 to enjoy the positive vibes and culture that NOLA is known for. On an unsuspecting walk around Jackson Square, Rickey surprised me with a “portrait painting” session (done by a native Orleanian artist) that turned into him asking for my hand in marriage, and my very enthusiastic YES!!!
