One sunny Saturday in July, I was walking down the block with two coffees in hand. I was on my way to open up the local comic book shop in preparation for a Magic draft event. I had to walk around the building and I remember being nervous about people showing up before the shop opened in excitement for this event. Lo and behold I see two guys sitting at bench around the corner. One of these men was Matt. I asked if they were here for the Magic event and they said, "Yeah." I replied, "Okay I'll be opening up in just a minute!" Once I unlocked the backdoor and turned on the lights (and took a sip of coffee) I was ready to open up shop. The draft event started within the next couple hours and Matt had me hooked with his humor. He would say things like, "If I win this round can I talk to you more?" The Magic release ended and I gave the winners their prizes. Throughout the event the conversation between us flowed effortlessly. After the attendees had dispersed, Matt stayed - we just kept chatting away. Before Matt left he slid me his phone and we exchanged numbers. Within a few days Matt messaged me to set up our first date.
