Wedding Party

Scott Smith

Father of the Bride

If you know my dad, you know he's one of a kind. He loves people and has a generous heart. I'm so thankful to my dad for always fighting in my corner, whether that meant "standing up to the bad guys" or paying for my college. I'm so thankful I have him to walk me down the aisle. If you see some excitement on the dance floor, he's probably in the middle of it!

Trisha Smith

Wedding Planner/Step-Mother of Bride/Angel in Disguise

Trisha came into my life when my dad asked her to marry him. There were a lot of rough, "You're not my mom!" moments when I was a teenager growing up, but after all that, we became almost best friends. Trisha is one of the sweetest, most generous people I've ever known, and I'm so thankful to have her in my life and by my side during the wedding planning process. Trish, if you're reading this, love you! Trisha is usually seen with two blonde mini-Trisha's following close behind. You'll see them tossing the flowers.

Lorie Garcia

Mother of the Bride

I wouldn't be here without my mom. She is a big part of who I am today, and I'm really thankful for all the gifts she gave me. She first encouraged my relationship with God, which is absolutely the most important thing in my life. Thanks, mom, for all your support over the years!

Brazos and Brylee Smith

Flower Girls

Brazos and Brylee are my dear little sisters. Yes- big age gap, but it's been so fun to have such young sisters. They are always making us all laugh and bringing so much joy. I'm so excited to have them leading me out to the man of my dreams to say our "I do's." Fun fact-- When I first asked Brylee to be one of my flower girls, she immediately shook her head "no." Glad she changed her mind!

Case

Ring Bearer

What can I say about Case? He's a fearless, hilarious little dude. The stories his mom tells me are endless and always leave me laughing. Gonna have to keep an eye on him with the rings for sure!

Robin Dodd

Matron of Honor

My Aunt Robin has served so many roles in my life: obviously aunt, mother, confidant, and best friend as I've gotten older. I can't put into words the impact that she has had in my life, but I don't think I'd be the person I am today without her always reminding me who I am, and what's most important: my relationship with God. While she has been a stable part of my life, she is far from boring. She is one of the most fun, hilarious, honest, crazy people I know. Whether it was running around the streets of Mexico, or living it up at my 21st birthday party, she has always been one of my favorite people in the world. So excited to have her by my side to marry my actual favorite person in this world.

Addie Kanetsky

Bridesmaid

Addie and I go way back. From sharing 5th grade together to sharing shots during our wild days of high school (sorry parents), she's been like a sister. She's one of the few friends I still have from high school, and I know after all we've been through together that we'll remain friends forever. She was a close runner-up for my Matron of Honor, just so everyone knows how big a role she plays in my life. She's such an amazing mom (to the adorable ring bearer), and I'm so thankful to have a friend like her.

Kara Koether

Bridesmaid

Mine and Kara's friendship blossomed while we were both suffering through our college Latin classes. We started meeting up to do translation homework together, and eventually this turned into late night, spotify-jam seshes. We actually had to stop meeting for homework dates because we were so unproductive and just wanted to hang out and have fun. Kara is one of the most loyal, passionate people I know, and I'm just sad I don't get to see her every day anymore.

Anna Carroll

Bridesmaid

Anna and I have known each other for a long time through church and eventually high school UIL activities, but we really became close while we were roommates my freshman year of college. Some favorite activities were riding the trike to Bahama Bucks and eating ice cream while binging Law & Order. Now we mainly talk to commiserate about our teaching struggles and celebrate the little victories. However, I got to be a part of her proposal from her now-husband, and also a part of her wedding party, and I'm so thankful for a friend like her.

Cindy Mays

Bridesmaid

Oh, Sinthia. I have so many fun memories with you. Most of them are from our nerdy UIL trips, but every time I see you, we always have a blast. I'm so thankful you agreed to be a part of my day because I know you'll bring so much joy with you. Thanks for being a constant friend, and Katy Perry's "Unconditional" will NOT be on the playlist...

Kirsten Garcia

Bridesmaid

Kirsten is my sister. She lives back in East Texas, and she's a rockstar. She is about to be a Junior in high school, and she is brilliant--not to mention could probably be a model because of how tall and beautiful she is. I'm so proud to have her as a sister, and I know she's going to do amazing things in her future. She has a sweet soul, and I'm happy to have her on one of the most important days of my life.

Joy Thacker

Bridesmaid

Joy is technically my cousin, but really like a sister to me. She has the sweetest heart and is so fun. Not to mention, she is so smart and an amazing actress. She, like Kirsten, has a wonderful future in front of her, and I'm so glad I get to have her by my side.

Raymond Chavez

Father of the Groom

Thank you for always being there for me. No matter the day or the length of travel, I knew I could always look up in the stands and see you sitting next to mom with a smile on your face. You worked and continue to work so hard to support our family. Thank you for teaching me about hard work, responsibility, kindness, and raising me in a home that serves The Lord. I hope to be half the father you are someday. Thank you, dad!

Merlinda Chavez

Mother of the Groom

Mom, I may not have said thank you or how much I love you often enough, but I definitely appreciate all the things you continue to do for me. You are an amazing, strong, selfless woman and I am grateful to be able to call you mom. As I've grown older, I can look back and see how much you have sacrificed for me. I was and continue to be your #1. Thank you for your unfailing love and surrounding me with guidance and support. Love you, mom!
