So my friend at work and her husband had been teasing me for awhile about this “Coach Chavez” who has a thing for me, but at the time I was in a new relationship. Needless to say that didn’t last long, and soon after it ended, Eric swooped in at the advice of his friend, AKA my friend’s husband who is also a coach. Eric’s first words to me were to tell me how gorgeous he thought I was, and after that I was hooked. After a very short time, we fell in love and knew that we wanted it to be forever.
I begrudgingly awoke the morning of August 6, 2018 knowing that my summer was over and I had to go back to work. Lazily, I walked down the hallway towards the classroom. I walked into the room with my head down and as soon as I looked up I knew I had just seen the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. Unfortunately, I found out that she was seeing someone. A couple months down the road I heard that she was single so I had to send her a friend request on facebook. She accepted and sent me a wave. We immediately became best friends and knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.
I had been expecting Eric to propose for at least a month. My mind had thought up every single possible moment that he could've planned to propose to me. The day it finally happened, I was not expecting it at all. We had just gotten back from lunch and were about to crash into a food coma when he asked me, "Do you want your ring?" I was shocked and speechless. All I could do was nod my head, so he got out the ring box and asked me to marry him just like that. The next day I was going away to a church camp for a week and we wouldn't see each other that entire time, so it was perfect. I definitely couldn't sleep after that. We can't wait to share our excitement with you in June 2020! See y'all there.
